Lauren stared down at the younger girl who snuggled closer into her side. She gave a small sigh and carefully positioned her left arm so she could hold Camila tighter as her face occasionally twitched in her sleep. Lauren felt a foreign feeling in the pit of her stomach as she brought her hands up to brush her fingers across her lips where Camila had kissed her.She would be lying if she said she wasn't caught off guard when the smaller girl had made the first move. When Camila was bored of checkers, Lauren would have never thought that the next thing she would have wanted to do was kiss her. They were both so flustered when it had happened. Lauren had to do her best to calm Camila down when the latter started breathing unevenly and panicking slightly.
She couldn't get her mind off of the conversation they had afterwards.
'Camz, calm down, it's okay.' She said soothingly, wrapping an arm around Camila's shoulders.
'B-but, but I-' Camila started spluttering out, her face bright red.
'Hey, no buts.' Lauren reminded her sternly.
'I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry.' The brunette said with tears brimming in her eyes, reaching up to bury her face in her hands. Lauren frowned.
'I already said once that it's okay. Stop apologizing.' Lauren paused to consider for a second, before deciding on her next words. 'I liked it.' Camila stopped shaking, but didn't look at her yet.
'Y-you did?'
'Yes.' Lauren nodded, glad that she had calmed Camila down, yet she still felt her own heart beating uncontrollably. 'I like you.' The brunette removed her face from her hands, turning her face to look into Lauren's green eyes.
'I-I lik-' She was cut off when the black haired girl raised a finger to press against her lips.
'Ssshh..' Lauren warned. 'Don't say anything yet.' Camila gave her a confused look. 'It's too soon right now, alright?'
'So, w-what does this mean?' She hiccuped nervously, but became more relaxed when Lauren gave her a reassuring smile.
'We'll talk about it in the morning. For now, we should focus on getting to sleep. It's late, yknow.' She spoke softly, removing her arms from around Camila to lie down on the bed. 'Can we still cuddle?' Lauren asked in an almost babyish voice, holding her arms out. Camila sniffled loudly, reaching up to wipe the tears from her eyes before she nodded, with a huge grin now spreading across her face. She lied down next to Lauren, wrapping her arms around her and squeezing tightly as the black haired girl reached across to flick Camila's lamp off.
'G'night Lolo.' The brunette mumbled as she rested her head on Lauren's chest.
'Goodnight Camz.' She whispered, closing her eyes and bringing her arms around Camila.
The memory of how cute Camila had been while flustered forced a chuckle through her body. However, she almost instantly regretted letting that happen when the girl resting her head on her chest started stirring with a light groan. Camila slowly shifted for a second, before moving her head so she could look up at Lauren's face with sleepy brown eyes.
'Are you awake?' She whispered out tiredly, squinting through the darkness of the room.
'Mm...' Lauren hummed quietly, trying not to make too much noise. She felt somewhat guilty for waking the smaller girl and wanted her to get back to sleep as soon as she could.
'How come?' Camila asked half way through a yawn, and Lauren moved her hand to give her a slight boop on the nose with her finger.
'SSshh. Don't worry about it baby, go back to sleep.' The younger girl scrunched up her nose in response to the touch.
