Not everyone you lose is a loss

The rain was falling hard–harder than it has ever been. Two people, facing each other, stood underneath the heavy squall.
"Bakit?" A soft feminine voice asked.
"I can't do this anymore. Hindi ko na kaya." The baritone voice boomed across the falling rain.
"Hindi mo man lang ako tinanong?"
"Para saan pa, Maine? Alam ko naman na nahihirapan ka na rin."
"Hindi naman ibig sabihin nun..." Tears started to fall down Maine's cheeks but was masked by the rainfall that streamed down her face.
"Na yun ang gusto mo mangyari? Choice ko naman yun eh."
"Pero RJ...you can't just let go. You can't just..." She stopped midsentence because couldn't find the words to say.How could she when she gave him hints. It was her choice, too.
"I can. I did. Ngayon, na-realize ko na na hindi lahat ng bagay ay para sa iyo. You have to choose." RJ said. He took a step closer then held Maine's face. He looked at her directly in the eyes and so did she. "And I chose you."
"You didn't have to."
"But, I wanted to. Ayoko na ng showbiz. I don't want anyone hurting you. I'll lose my fans? I'll lose the people who highlights my career? Wala akong pake. As long as I have you. Not everyone needs to stay."
"I know you'll stay with me."
"Always."
She wrapped her arms around him while he wrapped his around her waist. And they shared a kiss that could clear even the darkest of skies.
