"CAN WE TALK, OLIVIA?" Rico says while chasing me.

I stop from walking and turn my body toward him. "What for?"

Classes have started in every rooms, so no one will notice what is happening between me and him here in the hallway— except for those utilities who keep the whole school clean and neat.

"You haven't been texting me, nor bothering to answer my phonecalls." He then places his hands on his waists.

"Why don't you ask yourself then?"

"Excuse me?"

Heaving a deep breath, my eyebrow arches. "Get lost. that's all." I then roll my eyes and turn around to continue walking away from him.

Drifting into the restroom which is located downstairs, I've felt a strong hand, gripping me on my arm. And then, it pulls me, making me to turn around with force.

The owner of the hand that tugs me through my upper limb is no other than Rico with those dark eyes, as if he's gonna tear me into pieces.

"Rico what are you doing?!" I hiss with a twisted face, "we're here in school what do you think you're doing?!"

"You can't do this to me, Olivia! Nobody's rejecting me!"

"Oh yea?!" I mock, trying to pull my arm with force from his grip but he never gives it. "That's why you and my friend are having a good time behind my back?"

Actually, after what of what they've done to me, Rico Jordan, Lisa Kenner, and I, haven't talked to each other especially the person I once knew as my friend. At first, She was defending herself back then but in the end, she admitted that they were dating for two months, that she was aware about me and Rico.

"I don't understand what you're talking about." He defends, barely laughing while shaking his head.

"I caught you in the amusement park, so go away and don't talk to me stupid!" I groan, realizing that there's a sweeper-- five steps away from us-- who's looking with lots of confusion in his eyes.

Rico's eyes get so wide. Then his face gets twisted in annoyance as his grip begins to be tighter, making me to wince with a slight pain, until a voice quickly echoes in the muted place.

"If I were you, I will remove that fucking hand," The voice says with a threatening voice.

Looking behind Rico, I spot Jared with the sweeper behind him and it already makes me to rush toward him to cry.

Rico tiltz his head toward Jared.

"M—Mr. Leto. . ." I mutter, gulping my own saliva with a fear that they might end of hurting each other because these men are not the ones I once knew in this moment. They are like predators and I'm the prey that they will kill each other just to get me, and eat me as a meal.

"Oh. . ." Rico mumbles, slowly taking his hand off my arm, "do you have any business here? It's just lover's quarrel."

Seriously?!

Jared strides closer to us, and in my our own surprise, Mr. Leto gropes his collar and pulls it toward his face. Jared's expression is so dark and dangerous as his eyes are so wide and filled with rage while clenching his jaw.

"Leave her alone!" Jared groans, "and go to that slut and fuck her harder! You made Olivia cried, so back off!"

My heart throbs when I hear those enormous words from Mr. Leto. That is the first time he speaks that way.

Rico doesn't say anything. He captures Jared's hands and tossed it aside. Then, he steps to pass over Jared, bumping his shoulder through his.

Jared follows his motion over his shoulder then to the sweeper who looks so embarrassed when Rico gazes upon him.

"Jared. . ." I call.

He throws his eyes on me, smiling a little. "Are you alright?"

"Yea— Thank you. . ."

Stepping even closer to me, all of a sudden, he pulls me into a tight hug and rubs the back of my head. I am locked in his arms, so I've got the chance to inhale Jared's perfume which smells so good that you just want to stay in there and bury your face on his chest.

My heart is drumming non stop against my ribcage withmy abnormal breathing because of the pressure I am feeling right now... If Jared's treating me only as his closes friend, why it seems like I can't feel it anymore?

The sweeper behind us bows his head and dashes away from the scene. Maybe he caught Jared and led him this way at our direction to see how crazy Rico was. I don't have the chance to say "Thank you" because this man in front of me quickly tackles and hugs me.

"Hey. . ." I utter when I lift my arms and hold his forearms.

Jared laughs a little, feeling his warm breath whipping onto my ear. "Rico will never bother you anymore, that's a promise."

FIVE FORTY FIVE in the afternoon, finally, I have arrived at my apartment. Sitting on the couch, I lean my back on my seat and barely closing my eyes to relax a little.

It feels so good to be home especially when you had an awful day just like what happened between me and Rico. Fear enveloped in me when he became like that; the fire in his eyes got me burned that I just wanted to get an ice just to avoid that smoldering face. I didn't even understand why he turned into something like that when he was the one who made a bullshit thing.

Thinking about that repeatedly, suddenly— I've got a text message from Mr. Leto:

Hi Olive, have you gotten home safe? Just wanna say that I am. . . and, don't bring your car tomorrow, I'll pick you and send you to your home after the work hours. -Jared.

I stare for his text message for five seconds. He is showing some affection to me and I don't want to fool myself that it isn't something, because it is. Although Jared is so attractive and handsome, there is a hidden feeling inside of me that keeps on troubling my system.

Admiration? Affection? or nervousness?

I can't name it yet, but maybe someday.

It feels like, whenever he's around, sometimes I feel safe, or sometimes I feel I'm in danger; being surrounded by him all the time is a little creepy because of his silent aura that you can't even decode his thoughts-- like there's a moment when I accidentally caught him looking at me so deep without any expression— so blank, that if I don't give him a simple smile, he won't give any life in his face.

Just like awhile ago. . . when he saw Rico almost violating me— No, violating me, his aura became so dark that it ended of pulling him on his collar which I didn't expect from him that he would do that.

If Jared is a killer, probably. . . he's dead.

Pulling out a deep breath, I put my phone back in my bag and climb upstairs to take a shower-- to relax after and to forget the scene I once experienced with them.
