Chapter 1: Prophecy
A/N- This is my new fanfic!!! Meet you at the bottom! >.<
"Phineas what on this magical Earth are you talking about?" Dumbledore questioned with a pained expression, leaning slightly on his chair.
"As I said, due to the breaking of the prophecy surrounding Harry Potter, its effect has been dismissed. A new prophecy has been created surrounding Miss Granger and Mr Malfoy," repeated Phineas slightly annoyed. "I am sorry Albus but I have other matters to attend to, good day."
Phineas' disappeared out of his portrait leaving the frame blank. Dumbledore collapsed into his chair, he was still recovering from his injury at the end of last year, despite Snape missing the curse at his chest he still fell from a high distance and magical healing does so much. He stared over the grounds of Hogwarts luckily noticing the red train through the pelting rain. He reluctantly pulled himself out his chair, fixed his half-moon spectacles and turned off the desk lamp. He walked out his office towards the Great Hall awaiting the new academic year.
Hermione and her friends were sitting in a carriage talking, "I wonder who Head Boy is going to be this year," said Hermione still beaming from learning her new position. She returned to her Advanced Potion textbook and awaited their arrival at Hogwarts.
"Well Hermione, good question and honestly I have no idea," said Ginny who was braiding her hair before leaving to get changed into her robes, as they would be arriving soon.
"I can sense something is going to be different this year. I can feel an increase in Nargle activity," said Luna in her airy dreamy voice.
Everyone looked at Luna slightly oddly but they had come to accept Luna's odd ways. Little did they know, she would be right by the end of that year.
Slowly the Hogwarts Express screeched into Hogsmede and its whistle blew signifying its arrival at the station. Despite the heavy rain, Hagrid's large figure could be seen through windows holding a flickering oil lamp, as he yelled out to the first years to 'gather round'.
Hermione was glad she did not have to go out on a boat in this dreadful weather as she wrapped her robe more tightly around herself trying to keep out the howling wind. She dragged her trunk to the carriage wishing for the day she could use magic, only a few weeks away, she hoped none of her possessions become damaged from this weather. Crookshanks unhappily meowed in her cage as she was flung around in her cage from the vicious wind.
Soon their carriage had arrived at Hogwarts and everyone quickly piled out to escape the rain and enter the warmth Hogwarts would provide for them. Hermione entered through the great oak doors feeling instantly comfortable at her second home.
She sat down at the back end of the Gryffindor tables with the other 7th years. She could not believe this was her last year at Hogwarts. It felt only yesterday she was feeling nervous lining up for her turn to be sorted. She remembered tugging her bushy hair as she stood in line.
"Hermione are you listening to me?" Ginny questioned her brunette friend.
"What? Oh sorry I was thinking back to when I was first sorted into Gryffindor and how nervous I was. I just can't believe this is my final year here," Hermione said in a sad tone.
"Oh yes I understand. I was saying that it appears Snape is still teaching Dark Arts this year and Slughorn is taking potions," Ginny whined.
"Oh great!" Ron said filled with sarcasm. Hermione shot him a look. "At least he actually knows your name I don't think he got it right once last year."
