The end of the last chapter:
Eren, simply looked excited and slightly panicked. "Can I see him!?" Stein nodded, and was going to say something, but the boy was already running to Levi's room. It would occurred to him at a later time that he hadn't even known the room number; instead just following him instincts. he silently entered the room, closing the door behind him before sitting next to the bed.
Levi was pale, dark circles under his eyes; face gaunt. He was hooked up to several machines; a heart monitor being the loudest. His eyelids clearly showed the veins, and his eyes twitching as Eren stared at his now sleeping friend. Cautiously, the brunet moved a piece of Levi's hair off his face, and the raven-haired male's hand twitched towards Eren's.
Smiling softly, Eren held Levi's hand, rubbing the smaller male's knuckles as he silently sat there. The beeping of the monitor and Levi's breathing soon lulled his tired body to sleep, still holding his injured friend's hand.
It was one of the most peaceful naps of both Eren and Levi's lives.
Hanji giggled, pulling out a phone and taking a quick picture before poking Eren, who jumped, blinking. "Wha...?" He mumbled, half awake. Armin smiled, opening the blinds and allowing the morning sunlight to flood the room. "Dude!?" Eren hid his face in the blanket next to him before snapping awake, eyes wide. He was still holding Levi's hand, the raven laying still next to him. A bright blush covered his face and turned his ears red as a chuckle was heard from the doorway.
"I knew it," Marco said, walking in; Jean behind him. "How Captain doing?" Jean asked, leaning against the wall while Eren shrugged. "I dunno, he's been passed out for a while." "Is everyone here?" Maka asked, walking in, and after getting nods, she walked away. Dr. Stein, who was frowning at a clipboard, walked in.
"Is he related by blood to anyone known?" The doctor asked, and everyone shrugged. They didn't know much about Levi's childhood, and knew never to ask unless they wanted to loose a limb. Stein opened his mouth to continue, but was interrupted by the heart monitor spiking. Levi twitched slightly, grimacing slightly as the monitor went crazy.
Maka came running in, eyes wide, as Dr. Stein tried to get everyone out of the room when the lights flickered. They brightened, and one of them burst; smoking slightly as everyone yelled, covering their head to block and glass shards. The lights flickered back to normal, and Levi blinked awake, glancing around. "What broke."
Eren smiled brighter then ever, wrapping his arms tightly around the raven-haired male. Hanji giggled, snapping another picture as Levi did his best to hug the boy back. "Oi, brat. Ribs." Eren quickly let go, a faint blush dusting his ears again before Stein cleared his throat. "I have some questions for you." He sat down in the chair beside the bed, pulling a pen out of his pocket.
"Name?"
"Levi Ackerman."
"Is that your real name?"
"Maybe."
"Birthplace?"
"The underground."
"... do you know why your here?"
Levi was quiet for a moment before responding. "I got into a fight."
"Who'd you fight with?"
"Someone broke into the house. Bart wasn't home at the time, so I delt with it." The lie slipped from his mouth so easily Levi worried for a moment. Was it good for him to lie about this?
"Is that what really happened?"
"...Yes."
"What is your current foster fother's name?"
