Mr Sove chuckled at the slight hostility in Smotherely's tone and waved off his guards who had stiffened up.
"Now now Peter," he looked straight into the slightly younger man's eyes, "Aren't we all friends here?"
"Indeed sir," Peter gritted out, forcing himself to relax under the scrutiny of the large figures looming around him.
The room was silent for a few moments before the dark skinned man spoke out with a heavy accent that Peter couldn't quite place.
"Aah Graham Sove, I have not seen you in 10 years how are you?" the tension dissipated and Peter could only sigh in relief as the attention was shifted off of him. He quickly took a seat lest he collapse and make an even bigger fool of himself.
A prickling sensation crawled up his neck, making him shiver and look around the room to see the woman with red hair staring at him, her eyes picking him apart and judging his actions. Peter gulped, feeling as though the white walls were closing in on him as she continued to analyse him.
Words could not describe the pressure that was lifted as she turned her gaze away.
"Shall we proceed with the meeting then people?" Sove asked as he made his way to the head of the table, the hologram already hovering above the table, ready for the discussion to begin.
Taking his seat, Peter swallowed uncomfortably as two of the six body guards sat next to him, effectively trapping him.
"It has come to my attention," Sove began, showing an image of 17 young adults all with red eyes and a snarl marring their faces, "that the number of 16-25 year olds who are being taken over by the Evos has increased over the past 7 months and I propose that to get rid of the problem, we get rid of all the Slights before they can be infected.
As we all know, Slights are a weaker form of us humans, being susceptible to the Demons control and once the Demon has taken over, they become dangerous to the citizens. To olve this, why not slice the problem at the roots so to speak."Peter gasped quietly but it wasn't him who opened his mouth to protest. It was, however, the woman who he had deemed stuck up previously.
"With all die respect sir, we can't just go around killing off the Slights. They make up 50% of the population and we are in a dire state of endangerment as we speak. Besides, we just don't have the power to kill off all of the Slights if their demons decide to fight back"
He nodded at her and she sat down swiftly. "Yes, the demons were a problem but now thanks to Dr Tyme and his assistant Ms Rachel, we no longer have to worry about that. Dr, would you care to share your findings?"
A smug look made it's way onto the dark skinned man's face.
"Yes Graham. You see, our scouts have found a particular type of Evos that has interested us. They are under the age of 15, very rare and almost impossible to catch. However, we managed to capture one a few months ago and after running a few tests, we were able to determine that the demons that these Evos hold are stronger than the average ones. What we found most interesting was the fact that the Demon did not have full control of the girl. They in fact switched, the demon taking over for when we took flesh samples and the girl was in control for the rest of the time. What's more is how easily, they were able to escape but when they got to the rooms lit with a strong UV light, they couldn't move through it without experiencing extreme bouts of agony."
