Arranged Marriage (King George ||| x Reader)

Chapter One: Welcome to England

Your felt the ship rocking underneath you as you sat below deck in your private chambers. You were the daughter of a highly respected French nobleman, so if course you were married off very early in life, but today was the day. Just after your 18th birthday.

You were finally headed to England to meet your future husband, in person. He had sent you love letters, but you were still skeptical about him, having heard. . . some things, about him. You  had an arranged marriage with none other than King George III.

While waiting for the ship to arrive in England you say in your chambers reading over his letters he had sent you. Weather you wanted to admit it or not you had fallen, and you had fallen hard, but you kept his letters so that if he wasn't anything like the man you think you fell for, you would have something to go back to, to make you feel loved.

You swooned at his sweet words, every line caused you to blush even more. One of your favorites was a letter he sent you back in 1773, it read:

My darling, (Y/n)

Love me or hate me, both are in my favor. For if you love me I'm always in your heart, but if you hate me I'm always on your mind. I am a fool for you. A ridiculous, pompous, ambitious fool. Every second I spend trying to make you fall in love with me, but I just end up falling deeper in love with you. They may doubt to stars are fire, they may doubt the sun doesn't move, they may doubt truth to be lie, but they may never doubt my love for you.

That's when you felt it. The boat had hit shore. You rushed up the stairs to see your first glimpse of your new home. You walked off the boat to the streets of London and instantly fell in love with the gorgeous city.

Then you saw him. An elegantly dressed man draped in reds and golds. Guards surrounded him. He wore a crown atop his head. He came up to you to greet you, "you're even more beautiful than I'd imagined," he said causing you to blush. His baby blue eyes full of love. "Welcome to England, my darling."
