Ch.5 The letter

You were happily wondering the halls of your castle humming when a maid approached you with something. It was a letter addressed to you. The return address was from your old mansion back in France. But it seemed a bit bulky to just be a letter. You took it back to your private study to open it. You cut open the wax seal and another letter fell out that's return address you didn't recognize then you saw your fathers letter fall out beside it. It read:

Your cousin meant to send this you. He hasn't been given the news of your marriage or new address so I redirected it to you. I ask that you make him aware of this new so I don't get anymore of these letters to send to you.

Love, your father

You looked at the other still sealed letter and imeadiatly burst with excitement when you read the name the accompanied the return address. You cut open the seal and pulled out the letter to read it. Noticing the paper was thin yellowish and the ink was cold there was a stain on the paper as well.

Darling (y/n),

I miss you so much and wish I could join you back in France. It's messy over here in America  cleaning up after the war. I fought along side my friends and one of them didn't make it. He was a charming young lad who wanted to end slavery. You would have liked him. He was a great friend and a great soldier it's shame we lost him to the British. He wasn't supposed to die either. The news of the war being over just hadn't gotten to him in time and there was another battle. But other than that I've made friends with others. Like Alexander Hamilton if you've heard of him back in France he's become quite notorious over here, working beside general  Washington himself. And then ther was Hercules mulligan he was a tailor and an American war spy. He was a great help in the war too. Anyway I'm writing to tell you I'm going to stay here in America a little longer before I return to France, but I can't wait to see you again.

Laf was coming back to France and you weren't there to go and see him. You had to write him back telling him everything that had happened to you and then have a serious talk with George about inviting him over and helping America.

(A/n): omg. I updated. Yes I know its short but heeeeeyyyyy laf is your cousin and doesn't know that you married to the king (his enemy by default of being on America's side of the war). So who knows what's gonna happen next?...
