I froze. It honestly didn't help with my headache and painful gashes to see Olly this way. He had his hands wrapped tightly around his knees which were pulled close to his chest. Someone had straightened his crooked hoodie strings, I thanked that person quietly. He rocked back and forth, his eyes almost as wild as his hair.Leyton gave me a hard push. I hadn't even realised I was blocking the doorway for him. He squeezed around me and waltzed up to Olly's bed and placed his hand on his shoulder. Olly looked like Leyton just electrocuted him.
'A friend of yours?' Leyton asked me.
I nodded. I snapped myself out of my shock and
took in the rest of the facility. Naturally, the entire place was made out of metal. At the end of the packed room, 3 doors were made of a lighter steel. I now no longer had a guess on what the rooms contained, considering the little fiasco with that bathroom.
'What happened to him?' I asked.
Leyton continued to stare at Olly while he stared back. An old lady came past and handed Olly a small flask.
'Drink this, hon. It helps.' she said.
Olly tore his gaze away from Leyton to start staring at the flask. It contained a strange smelling, clear liquid. The smell had the same aroma as a mixture of vanilla and mouldy cheese. It looked like Olly didn't like the smell either.
'We are honestly not sure what happened.' Leyton replied, reminding me that I had asked him a question, 'One of the nurses found him lying unconscious under a tree in the hospital's courtyard.'
Olly raised the flask to his lips and took a small sip. His face looked like he just ate a really old and sour lemon. He set the flask down and spread himself out on the mattress, fanning himself with his right hand. Almost immediately, he passed out.
'He should be fine in about 5 minutes.' Leyton said, poking Olly in the face with his finger. 'Meanwhile, I should give you a tour of the facility. First off, welcome to the main sickbay.' He spread his arms widely and spun around slowly. 'The elevator-bathroom room is through that door over there.' He pointed to the door on the far left. 'And- '
'Wait, hold on a second.' I said. 'Why do you need an entire room for the elevator-bathroom?'
'Well, you don't expect us to bring all the patients through one elevator, do you? The hospital only uses about 10 rooms, max. So in there are all of the bathrooms.' Leyton answered. 'Anyway, we were at the interrogation cell before. We only have one of those, not too often that we get wanted criminals.'
'Criminals?' I asked.
'Well, yeah. You don't think that with such a bounty on your head that you didn't do anything bad?'
'What kind of criminals do you get in there? Surely not many people that murder people and rob places have the nerve to go to a hospital, at the risk of getting caught.'
'Mostly Premians. The nurses usually think that there is something wrong with them.' Leyton replied.
'Premians?' I asked.
'People with supernatural powers. We've had a few people that can control air, some that can grow plants. God, they're a nuisance. Weeds, everywhere.'
'I had no clue there were people like that in the world.'
'Yeah, it's pretty cool, huh? Anyway,' Leyton continued. 'That middle door there is the kitchen and the one on the right is the staff's headquarters. Any questions?'
'Yeah. Are there any more hidden doors?'
Leyton smirked in a playful manner.
'No.' He said that in a way that made me think otherwise. Also, he added a wink, it was basically a given that there were more doors somewhere...
