'You mean we have to kill each other?'

'No, idiot.' Scarlett snarled. 'We wear armour with lights built in. If you get hit with a sword and you get buzzed, you're out.'

'Well, that's reassuring.' I joked.

'Weren't you going to go to bed?' Scarlett teased.

'Yeah, I was.' I mumbled. 'Good night.' I turned on my side and stared at the wall. I didn't feel tired and I didn't want to sleep. Too much had happened the past two days.

The girls went to their beds shortly after me. Giggling and gossiping, so unlike me. I wanted to change dorms. Be with a group that likes me for me and not just because I was prophesied. With people who actually like me, unlike, Scarlett Romero.

My brain buzzed with everything that has happened. The death threats, the sensitive nurse, the Reihn Symbol, the prophecy and Leyton Sawyer. Leyton was a traitor. I should have trusted Olly. But then again, he did come back for us when we were locked in the interrogation room. I still thought of him as a friend and hoped that he was okay.

All these thoughts eventually put me to sleep, I dreamt about everything I had experienced.

I woke up to the sounds of my roommates chatting. Being half asleep, I honestly wasn't paying attention to what they were saying, but I caught a few words of their conversation and deemed them irrelevant. I was half expecting them to be talking about me for some reason. How selfish of me.

I sat up and swung my legs to the side of my bed.

'Good morning, Harper.' Audrey said.

'Morning.' I muttered, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. 'What time is it?'

'6:47. Breakfast should be soon.' Maya answered.

I stood and walked over to the group, trying my best to be social.

'So,' I said, trying to make conversation, 'what are your powers?'

'I have slight electrical powers.' Maya said. That made sense, considering that her hair stuck up like an afro in all directions.

'I can speak with animals.' Audrey said

'Strength.' Scarlett growled.

'Is that considered a power?' I teased. Scarlett snarled in reply. 'What about you, um... Ava, right?'

Ava curled more tightly into a ball, trying hard to avoid eye contact with everyone.

'She was lucky enough to get two powers.' Maya began. 'Mimicry and plant control.'

'Mimicry?' I asked.

'If she touches anyone intentionally, she mimics their powers.' Audrey explained

'That sounds, OP.' I said

'OP?'

'Yeah, slang for, awesome, basically.' I replied.

'Well, it's not.' Ava said. Wait a second, I just have to register that Ava actually said something.

'Um, why not?' I managed. My roommates seemed as surprised that she talked as I was.

'Because whenever I try to mimic someone, I take some of their bad memories.' Ava's voice cracked. 'It only lasts ten minutes as well and is about half as powerful as they are.' The breakfast bell rang.

'On that happy note,' I said, 'let's go eat.'

Breakfast was chaos. People were pushing and shoving to get closer to the food. I don't blame them, the food smelled delicious. There was an entire buffet, hash browns, eggs on toast, bacon, pancakes, waffles, various juices, to name a few. Once I stacked my plate with as many waffles I could carry, I balanced cautiously over to a table. To my surprise, people came to join me. Olly came over, same with Audrey, Maya and Ava, Scarlett obviously didn't come, she walked to the table furthest away from us with her friends. The most surprising person that came over was Elijah Greer, the boy at the door of Olly's dorm and Audrey's twin brother.
