'How long is the trip?' I asked.

'Overnight.' Jamie replied. 'You might want to take a nap.'

'Couldn't we have just taken a plane or something?'

'Of course not!' Jamie said. 'It is a secret society that can only be accessed by car! A plane landing in the middle of nowhere is a lot more conspicuous than a car.'

'Fair enough.' I relaxed in my seat and watched the scenery pass by. I watched as the tall towers of Northsage City disappeared and turned into lush bushes and trees branching over us in a leafy canopy. The car jolted and bumped along the dirt road, small pebbles flew against our windshield.

'How much longer?' I wondered.

'Don't be that person.' Jamie chuckled at her joke. 'The "are we there yet?" person.'

I laughed. 'But, really. How much longer?'

'About an hour, I think.'

'Wow,' I speculated. 'Pretty remote.'

'It needs to be.'

'What is going to happen to Olly?' I asked. 'How will he get to the facility?'

'I'm sure he can handle himself.' Jamie said. 'For now, get some rest. I expect you will need it.'

I obeyed and reclined my chair as far back as it would go. I curled up on my horizontal chair and tried my best the go to sleep. I didn't expect to fall asleep so quickly. I thought it would take forever to get even a small amount of shut-eye, considering everything that had happened, all that I had to accept. But no, I fell almost immediately into a dreamless sleep.

I woke in what looked like a dormitory. I propped myself up on my bed and took in my surroundings. I slept on the bottom bunk of a 2 tiered bunk-bed. Around me, many more beds lined the creamy-white walls. All the beds were unmade and covered in thick white sheets. People's belongings were strewn across the blue shag-carpeted floor: casual clothes, books, toiletries and scraps of food.

I still wore my black leather jacket with a white button-up shirt, black jeans and white high tops with gold trim. I stood from my bed and headed towards the door at the end of the dormitory. A small pane of glass sat in the middle of the door, showing multiple eager faces peering at me with expectation.

One of the girls among the crowd, she looked about eight, waved at me and faintly said hi. I waved back, slightly confused.

I turned the round handle and wedged open the door. I squeezed through the gap that I managed to make in the door and shuffled through the crowd, no exactly sure where I was going.

'Hey,' I said, which seemed to silence everyone 'where can I find Jamie?' multiple people volunteered to show me the way to Jamie's office but then the lady herself shooed everyone away.

'Give her some room!' Jamie said, still with a smile on her face. 'She only just got here, go back to training!'

'What was that about?' I asked once everyone had left.

'They think you're the chosen one.'

'From the prophecy?'

'Precisely.' Jamie wrapped one of her arms around my shoulder as a gesture of comfort. We walked through a long corridor with dormitories on the left including mine, dormitory 23. On the right, the wall occasionally opened up to a large open-roofed room which looked like a garden. Multiple people stared at me as I passed, occasionally stopping their training.
