Faking Pregnant
Chapter three
***
After walking around the mall like an idiot for about 30 minutes, I realized I had a phone. I quickly walked into the bathroom, and was surprised it was empty. I called my dad, and asked them where they were. When they told me they were at the food court, I quickly shoved the phone back into my purse and headed in the direction of the food court.
When I arrived at the food court, I looked around and quickly spotted my mom and dad, in line at the pizza place, mom yelling at the cashier.
"You call this a pizza? Excuse me; this thing is thin as a piece of PAPER! And super DRY! I paid 5 dollars for this piece of trash? Seriously?"
"Mom, what are you doing?"
She turned around and looked at me with surprise, "oh, nothing honey. Just this ignorant man trying to sell me garbage for five bucks. Nothing that you should worry about dear. " She turned to the cashier, "I'm not buying this. Give me back my money, me and my family are going home - we are never eating at your pizza place ever again!"
After the cashier reluctantly returned my mother's money, she quickly turned around and stomped toward the exit, motioning for us to follow. While walking in silence, I sneaked a glance at my father who had an amused expression on his face. Why did he think this was so funny? My mother just demanded her money in the middle of the food court and insulted there food! My eyes flickered to my mother, who eyes were narrowed like a bird who was about to eat its prey.
Huffing, I decided that it could be worse. My mother could get us banned out of the mall, like she did three other times in three other malls that my father had taken us to a couple of months back. My mother always had a habit of stirring trouble in something so little. She got us banned from three malls, five restaurants, and six movie theaters. It sometimes annoyed me, but I reminded myself my mother couldn't help it - that's just her. My crazy, whacky mother who can't keep her mouth shut for the life of her.
I finally let a smile slip on my face - thinking of how my mother acted so crazy! I knew I didn't see it all, but I could tell that she and the cashier had been at it a while, which held up the line at the Pizza place. When I glanced at my father once more, I saw he was silently laughing, making sure my mother couldn't hear nor see him. After a few moments of watching him laugh, I started to laugh. We both were walking behind my fuming mother, laughing silently at her craziness.
When we finally reached the car, I quickly opened the car door and slid in, letting my laughter go. I roared with laughter, my head shaking back ad forth looking like I was having a seizure with there in the car. I was laughing so hard, when an old lady walked by our car to enter the mall, she did a double take and almost ran to the mall - most likely thinking I was insane.
After I laughed for a couple of minutes, I finally noticed my mom and dad turned around staring at me like I was an alien who just jumped out of the seat.
"Uhh...how long have you been in here?" I questioned, blushing at the thought of my parents watching me laugh like I was mental. "I didn't notice you were in here."
I watched my father's eyes flicker with amusement. "Honey, we were in here sine you were in here, remember we walked her together? You jumped in the car randomly and started laughing, and you didn't even notice we were there!"
I shifted my gaze until it landed on my mother. "Is he telling the truth?"
She smiled and replied, "And you thought I was the crazy one..."
Laughing, I looked down and realized that my fake belly had fallen off - and was on the floor lying still. Did I laugh that thing off without knowing it? Man, I must have really been laughing. Hearing the car being turned on made me sigh, man I was really tired. Checking at the time - I realized it was seven o'clock! Wow, time flies quick at the mall!
Picking up my fake belly I froze, remembering the woman from the store. Anger suddenly rushed through my body, making my body tense up. What was that woman’s problem? Telling me those nasty things, why in the hell would she even work there?
I re-adjusted it on my belly, thinking of that rude woman who insulted me for no reason. What in the hell was wrong with her? I was doing nothing wrong, just looking around - doing what every other person was in here doing. Did she feel as is she was doing her store a favor? Most likely not. She didn't like her job, you could tell that just by looking at her scornful face.
Deciding not to waste more time thinking about it, I switched my thoughts onto my book - something that I needed to plan out. This book should be inspirational, but have enough facts for it to make sense. How about the order? So much to plan, so little time...
"Kendra?"
Snapping out of my thoughts, my gaze landed on my mother. "What, mom?"
"Did you have a good time at the mall? Sorry we left without a lot of notice - we didn't even get to stay the full two hours we wanted!" she sighed, and rolled her eyes. "Anyway, did you get anything you wanted? Got any experiences for your book?" she joked, flashing a warm smile at me. When she noticed I didn't answer right away, she suspected something was wrong. I guess it's a mother's thing, huh? To know when your daughter was upset, even when she didn't want you to know.
"Kendra did something happen at the mall?" she asked, looking at me through worried eyes. "You can tell us, you know."
Sighing, I caught my father's eye in mirror in front of the car. His eyes were warm, but had a sense of worry which made me wonder if they really supported me in this - if they thought I couldn't handle it.
"It's nothing mom, really. Dad, can you please drive a little faster? It's going to take forever to get us back home if you don't pick up pace!"
My mother eyed me warily, most likely wondering if she should drop it, or bug me until I spill. "Fine, Kendra. If it really is nothing, I guess there is no point in telling me, huh?" she smiled, "well, I hope you did have fun though. I and your father did have fun - until we went into that horrid pizza place. Laughing, I decided that my mother was possibly the craziest person out there - that I knew of.
"Mom, I’m going to try to get some sleep before we get back to the house. What time is it again?"
"Four forty five, dear. Get some sleep. Your father and I will wake you when we get back to the house."
"Alright, thanks mom."
"You're welcome, Kendra."

When we finally arrived home I quickly stripped off my clothes and put on some pajamas, making sure to set my fake stomach on my dresser where I won't forget it - or lose it. Grabbing my laptop, I quickly crawled into bed and turned on my laptop, deciding to add a couple more paragraphs’ to my book before heading to bed.
SATURDAY, JANUARY FIRST.
Sometimes, I wonder why I’m doing this. To prove that you can't judge a book by it's cover? To prove that even thought you think you know all the facts - you most likely are so far from the truth it almost laughable? Most of all, to prove to the rest of the school the way things happen at the school is most of the time none of your business, that you shouldn't stick your nose in something that doesn't concern you in the smallest way possible?
Answer: I'm doing it for all those reasons and more.
Proving everything that I would want would help me reach my dream - and prove to people that even though it is interesting - it's none of there business. What if I was really pregnant? What if all the rumors about me was true? It shouldn't even matter. It's none of your business.
Doing this will help prove so much more than the obvious.
It will help me pursue my dream.
