Tony looked curiously at Tom and Chris waiting for an answer. They seemed at a loss for words. "Nothing huh?" He said blandly, earning himself a sad look from Chris.
"I am sorry I have disappointed you, my friend." He said quietly.
Tony chuckled and shook his head. "Dude, you don't have to be sorry." He of course, did want to know the answer to the question. But sometimes private family matters were meant to remain private family matters. He completely understood that. He put his hand on Chris' shoulder comfortingly. "Now why don't you come sit with me?" He suggested causing a huge smile to appear on Chris' face.
"Thank you my friend!" He said loudly. Just before Tony could turn around and walk, Chris wrapped his arms around him and embraced Tony in a big hug.
"Wha-" Tony began before his mouth was covered by Chris' red shirt.
Tom turned to face them at that moment so he could walk to lunch and saw that Chris was hugging Tony. He sighed and rolled his eyes. He was honestly ashamed to be standing within the same room as them right then. "You idiot, get off of him!" He grabbed Chris' arm and pulled it back towards him so Chris would release Tony from his grasp.
Chris stepped back and looked angrily at Tom. "Know your place brother," he said sternly in an almost mean manner. "I was just embracing our new friend in a kind hug." He smiled and turned back to Tony.
"Yeah man back off, he was just giving me a nice, umm..." He thought for a moment trying to find the appropriate words to describe what just happened. "Man-Hug!"
Tom rolled his eyes, "Did you just say... Man-hug?" He smirked and started to walk away. "You truly are an idiot."
"Brother!" Chris called after him, following quickly. He didn't want Tom to go off by himself and get himself into any trouble. Sometimes Tom had a tendency to be rude, especially if he didn't get what he wanted. And if someone was at the table he wanted to sit at, he didn't want Tom to cause a scene. As he began walking, he turned and gestured for Tony to follow. "Come now Mr. Stark, let us go dine!"
Tony followed Chris, as he walked, he looked around the cafeteria in an attempt to find his science bro. He had been hoping the two of them would sit together at lunch. Unfortunetly, he didn't see him, so he just sat down at the table where Tom was propping his head up with his hand. Just as Tony was about to sit down someone poked his shoulder and he turned quickly to see Bruce's smiling face.
"Hey bro!" He pointed to the seat across from him. "That seat taken?"
Tony smiled when he saw Bruce, relieved that he wouldn't have to sit alone with Tom and Chris. "Nah, take a seat," he said while sitting down in a chair.
Bruce gladly sat down across from Tony and looked at Tom and Chris. He was usually very awkward when it came to meeting new people, but he thought it might be a good idea to try and introduce himself. Even if it came out awkward, Tony was already his friend, right? He wouldn't ditch him just because he was a little bit awkward. "Hi guys," he said while smiling at the two unfamiliar faces, "I'm Bruce Banner."
