Star is turning evil! Her magic is turning green. Glossarick(can't spell his name) was taken! What is the connection of Toffee and Moon fighting? More importantly, why did they fight?

First of all, I thought this was just another Magical Girl and stuff and that happened but it wasn't what I expected. I'm guessing it's gonna be like Gravity Falls though. First, it's a lighthearted disney cartoon then Ka-Boom! As you further watch it, you are slowly engulfed in a dark shadowy place with no where else to go. It's as if many mysteries clouded your vision.
And as mysterious as it is, we'd want to know the solution to those mysteries.
