"Ada! Nana! I'm home!" Naurfaer barged into the kitchen, startling her cat Êl-NediMôr, Star in the Dark.
"Rwo!"
"Sorry Êl-Ned-i-Môr!"
Naurfaer picked up Êl-Ned-i-Môr and began to nuzzle him, despite his protests. Then she put him down, and he scampered off after Celeg-pôd, Swift-foot, the mouse, who, Naurfaer knew, would eventually get away and into her bed-sheets, and hopefully not chew them. Her sheets had too many patches.
"Naurfaer!" Nana(mother) suddenly had her in her arms, squeezing Naurfaer and brushing Naurfaer's hair with her fingers.
"Nana! Your squishing me!", Naurfaer yelled, her voice muffled by the cloth being put over her mouth.
Nana gently parted with Naurfaer"Oh, Tithen-Lach(Little Flame), sorry, but can't I just great my little-Naurfaer! Why are your cloths wet?! And there's moss in your hair!"
Naurfaer looked away from Nana and coughed. "Er, I might have been around the river..."
Her mother frowned and shook her head. "Tsk, go take a bath and redress. Your father's going to be home soon."
Naurfaer was about to turned around to leave for the bathroom, but then Nana brought her into a bone-crushing hug. Her feathery blond hair tickled Naurfaer's chin.
"Ooohhhh, I love you my little Naurfaer!"
Naurfaer wrapped her arms around Nana's mid-section, and they stood there for a few moments.
"I love you, too."
"Now, go take a bath."
"Nana!"
