It was interesting, the relationship between Isak and his roommates. Don't get it wrong, he does care for them deeply and would do anything for them but sometimes he wonders if they come from a different planet. So, waking up at 3am, walking into the living room and seeing Eskild and Noora doing yoga in their underpants while blasting Justin Bieber music was interesting to say the least. They hadn't taken notice to Isak standing there when they both started twerking to Sorry and looking like a couple of dying fish.
"Umm...what the hell are you guys doing?" Isak half yells over the music, startling them and causing Noora to scream.
"Jesus Isak, you scared the shit out of us." Eskild replies, clutching his hand to chest while trying to catch his breath.
"How do you think I feel walking in on this at 3am?" Noora sticks her tongue out at Isak and he just rolls his eyes at her.
"What are you doing up anyway?" Noora asks him. "Don't you have school in the morning or something?"
"Can't sleep, just got a lot of my mind." Isak shrugs his shoulders. He couldn't get Even out of his mind and it was starting to worry him. It wasn't the fact that he was having the thoughts, it was the sheer number of them that were invading his mind was what was worrying him. Thoughts ranging from just having a conversation with him to downright sexual thoughts. "Hey, Eskild. Can I talk to you?"
"Yeah sure, what do you need?" Eskild looks at him with a curious expression because it wasn't very often that Isak asked to talk to him.
"In private." Isak mutters, looking down at his feet and tracing a pattern into the floor. Eskild realises that this must be serious and asks him to follow him into the kitchen. On the way there, Isak gives Noora a hug, catching her off guard a little but quickly accepts it and hugs him back. "Love you, Noora." Noora smiles at him, causing a little grin to appear on Isak's face. "Love you too, Isak." She hugs him once more before heading off to her and Eskild's bedroom. Isak heads into the kitchen, where he sees Eskild making a cup of tea and he's a put on a bathrobe, covering himself. Isak gets some cereal, pouring it into a bowl without milk because he prefers it dry. Soggy cereal is one of his greatest pet peeves. He sits down at the table and sees that Eskild is looking at him, waiting for the conversation to ensue.
"So, what did you want to talk about, Isak?" Eskild asks, playing with the tea bag in his cup. Isak takes a second to swallow his food before speaking. His nerves start going into overdrive making him incredibly nervous, even though its just Eskild that he's talking to but this is the first time that he's brought the subject up.
"Umm...I don't know where to start." Eskild sensing his nerves, comes and sits by him. He wraps his arm around Isak's shoulder and looks him in the eyes, letting him know that it's going to be okay and he wasn't going to judge him for whatever is about to come out of Isak's mouth.
"Just start where you feel comfortable." Isak smiles and takes a deep breath.
"When did you realise that you're gay?" The question cutting through the air like a knife.
"Well, let's see." Eskild taps his chin acting if he's processing a deep thought. "Probably, the first time I had a dick in my mouth and I didn't hate it." Isak looks at him with a shocked expression, surprised at his outright bluntness.
"Eskild!" Isak punches him in the arm, causing him to bust out laughing. "I was asking you a serious question and you come back with that shit." Isak exclaims while trying not to laugh.
"Okay, okay, ummm....I think the first time I realised I was gay is when I developed this crush on this guy I went to school with and it was nothing like I had ever felt before. Why do you ask?"
"I think I might have a crush on someone.......and it's not a girl." Isak mumbles but Eskild understood what he says.
"What's his name?" Eskild asks softly, trying to be sensitive to Isak's feelings.
"Even"
"Okay, do you know if Even feels the same way?" Isak looks at him and shakes his head.
"I just met him yesterday plus, I don't even know if he's even into guys and if he is, why would he be interested in me, I'm nothing special."
"Hey, don't ever say that about yourself, Isak. You're a wonderful guy that has a lot to offer the world. Anyone, boy or girl, would be lucky to have you by their side and always remember that." Isak looks at him with tears forming in his eyes, breaking Eskild's heart at the sight of it.
"Do you really mean that?" The crack in Isak's voice wavering.
"I've never meant anything more in my life. I'm serious." Eskild pulls Isak into a hug, wrapping his around his torso. "If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm always here." Isaks nods his head and wipes away his fallen tears. Eskild lets him go and smiles at him, causing Isak to smile back.
"Thank you, Eskild, for everything. I really mean it. I don't know where I'd be if you hadn't found me passed out in that bar."
"Anytime, Isak and who knows where you'd be but you're here now and you're safe, that's all that matters." Eskild pushes Isak's fringe out his face, allowing him to see his face fully.
"Did anything ever come out of your first crush?" Isak asks him.
"Yeah, we fucked a couple of times but other than that, no. He said I was an experimental phase and that I meant nothing to him. So, it wasn't anything special but I will admit that I was really hurt when he said that to me but I look back on it and laugh, mainly because he now works as a garbage man alone and through him, I met my current boyfriend, James and I've never been happier so fuck him." Isak smiles, now knowing that there is hope and that makes him happy. He feels his phone buzz in his pocket and pulls it out, looking at it. "Who the fuck is texting me this early?"
Unknown: Hey cutie
Isak: Who is this? How did you get my number?
Unknown: It's Jade from the cafe, silly. I got your number from you last night.
Isak: Oh okay, why are you texting me so late?
Jade: At a party and I remembered that I had your number so here I am
"Who is it? Is it Even?" Eskild asks, peering over Isak's shoulder.
"No, it's just some chick that got my number from me when I was at a cafe last night."
"Ooh, is she hot?"
"Eskild, you're gay." Isak laughs, smiling like an idiot.
"Just because I like the peen over the coon doesn't mean I can't appreciate a woman's beauty." Eskild slaps Isak's arm, acting like he's offended but Isak sees straight through it. "So, are you going to text her back?" Eskild noticing Isak's hesitation on the matter.
"Nah, I don't need some desperate ho who only texts me just because she's lonely and horny." Isak replies while typing on his phone.
Isak: Do me a favour, delete my number and don't contact me again.
Jade: Fine, I didn't even want your pathetic ass so fuck you!" Isak frowns at the text but decides to just shrug it off, not letting it get to him.
"Well, someone's a bitch." The words making Isak laugh from the pure sass of them. "As much as I have enjoyed talking with you, Isak. I've got work in the morning so I need to get some sleep and you should too." Eskild gives him a knowing look, telling him to go to bed.
"Okay, if I must." Isak throws his arms up in the air, being dramatic.
"Just get your ass up, you dork." Eskild playfully yells at him, laughing. Isak grins and gets up, walking past him and heads to his room.
"Night, Eskild." Isak calls from down the hall.
Night. Isak and you'll let me know if anything happens with that Even guy, right?"
"You'll be the first to know, Eskild."
"Good" Eskild closes his door quietly, trying to not wake Noora. Isak smiles, now knowing that everything is going to be alright and heads into his room, closing the door behind him and tries to get a few minutes of sleep before he has to get up for school.
