Twinkle twinkle in the night
Stardust Girl is born
Half part human half part star
The world she will adorn
She hope's they'll like her
I mean, she shines!
What's not to like
There's nothing to decline
But she is turned away
She is scorned and mocked
Her parents are ashamed
In her room she is locked
She looks out her window
And sees the stars
Oh how free they are
Away from this world they are far
She yearns to be up there
With them
So she closes her eyes
And she wishes again
But wait-
What is that?
Look up there!
Here flies a little bat!
Could it be a vampire?
Could it be a friend?
Whatever it may be
It'll stay with her to the end
She asked for his name
He answered "Pete"
She frowned and said
"I have met defeat"
Pete looked at her sadly
"I know" he said
"The stars sent me"
She fell back on her bed
"Your family misses you,
They wish you back
But your one key power
They see you lack"
Stardust looked at Pete
With sadness clear in her eyes
"My only wish is
To be in the skies"
Her little friend nods
His furry black head
"Then stand up and
Get off of your bed"
She does as she is told
And follows to her open window
"Your one task is to fly
Fly so you can one day glow"
She gapes at the creature
"But I have no wings!
How am I supposed to fly
When to the earth I cling?"
Pete shakes his head
If only she knew
He cannot tell her that
Her wings are still new
"I came too soon
I am sorry dear girl
For deep inside
You are a real pearl
"I will return once
You are finally ready
Please try to hurry but
Keep your pace steady"
Stardust watched, distraught
As Pete took flight
Into the night sky
Into the star light
She was alone once more
Alone and friendless
She stayed awake that night
Clearly welcoming the stress
Could she have wings?
She is part star
But the others out there
They are so very far
She ponders the thought
All askew goes her head
She goes to her window
Her feet feel like lead
She wants to be up there
She wants it so bad
Actually she needs it
But what must be had?
She needs wings
But that cannot be!
She was born on the earth
Why can't they see?
She looks in the night
Leaning out of her window
She steps on the edge
Giving heaven a good show
What's the worst that could happen?
Well she could die
But for the possible reward
Shouldn't she at least try?
She took a deep breath and
Then closed her eyes
She fell out her window
And she began to fly
She opened her eyes
And saw her wings!
Oh they were beautiful
Magnificent things!
Painted in white they
Unfurled from her back
She stretched them accordingly
And flew into the black
Higher and higher
She flew up to the sky
When she finally looked down
Oh she was up so high!
But she didn't stop there
She kept going
All the way to space
Never once slowing
She came across many bumps
Things got in her way
But they will not stop her
Not tomorrow, not today
She will reach the stars
She will!
She will press forward
She has the skill
For now she is still there
In the night she is flying
She's looking for her place
While gravity she is defying
One day she will belong
She can finally be herself
Stop this fake facade
And put it on the shelf
She is beauty
But her true beauty
Comes out in the night
When she fulfills her duty
She is a light to all
Helping them through the night
Flying higher and higher
Encouraging others on their flight
This story has not yet an end
It is still ongoing for sure
But to Stardust she is my light
She is my cure
