Feeling in December

Chapter 5

I wake up to the alarm clock scaring me half to death. I quickly turn it off. Tiredly, I look around for Seth. She isn't in bed so I just get up and get in the shower. I decide since I have enough time I turn the shower into a bath and just soak in there for a bit. While laying there butt naked I decide to call Seth to see where she is. "Hey babe where are you?" I asked still a little tired and the bath almost made me fall asleep. "I'm at school, I didn't want to wake you up you looked so peaceful and handsome" She replies. "Oh ok just wondering. Well Ive got to go babe gotta finish getting ready for work, Talk to your later babe love you." "Love you too bye" She says. "Bye" I hang up. I finish getting ready for work and head out with breakfast in hand.

I get to work and sit there bored out of my mind. I have nothing to do at work today because as usual I finish up everything early. I get up and go to my bosses office. I knock and walk in. "Hey Nathan can I go and see Seth?" I ask politely. "Have you finished all of your work?" He replies. "Yes sir every thing is done" I say praying he says yes. "Sure go ahead then" he tells me.

I head out to the school. On the way I turn on the radio and listen to Not Afraid Anymore by Halsey. At the end of the song I'm at the school. "I'm so glad her school isn't far from work so I could easily check on her" I think to myself.

I walk in and ask the director what class she has. "She has theatre right now" he says. "Ok thank you" I wave him bye and walk to her class.
When I get there I walk in and she glows up when she sees me and runs and kisses me. "I missed you!" She says. "I did too, can I see what you've been working on?" She quickly skips back to her table and grabs her notebook of ideas and her script. She hands me the script and I flip through the pages. "Seems really cool. Who's your partner?" I ask trying not to seem at all jealous because I notice the other role was a male but for some reason a ping of it lurked in the back of my head. " my partner is her". She points to a girl consumed by her work. She has the brightest red hair I've ever seen. "Her hair is very...well red". I chuckle. "I know right I like that color though it's cool her name is Delilah by the way". I hand Seth back her script she sets it on the table and plants a kiss on my cheek. "I must get back to work. But I love you and thanks for coming by babe". She tightly hugs me before heading back to her table with the Delilah. She glance up at me before I leave the room and I wave goodbye before closing the door behind me.

I get back to my car when I notice a pink piece of paper under my windshield. "Oh come on. It was just 5 minutes". I yank the slip of paper out from under the windshield, slump in the car, and slam the car door close. I look at the paper to see what the fine was. As I read on I got to the price which the paper had read $500, for parking in a no park area. "Are you fucking serious". I Throw the slip of paper into the passenger seat before my face slowly falling into my hands wiping and pulling at my face. I shake the thought away. "It's ok...right, it's only $500......it's $500". Fear and anxiety filled my mind.

I drive home and on my way up I grab the mail from the boxes right inside as you walk into the complex. I use the elevator to save time. As of which I go through the mail they're all bills. "Of course". I say in the most untoned voice of disappointment ever. I get to the apartment and throw the envelopes on the counter. And crash on the bed. "Why is everything just falling away at the edges now?" I turn my face into the pillow and let out a long sigh before rolling over on my back and looking up on the ceiling.

I just remember staring at it for a few minutes before I wake up to the room dark and light seeping from underneath the door. I get up and search for the door knob. The only light providing any sight is a digital clock only dresser across the room that read 12:56 a.m.  "It's almost 1 I wonder what Seth is doing still up". I open the door to see Seth asleep at the table surrounded by papers from her classes and a computer that is about to die. I slowly pull her chair out a little more to where I can reach my arms around her and I carry her to bed. I lay her down on the bed and kiss her forehead. At least she was already in pj's it would have been difficult to change her without waking her. I think to myself. I tuck her in the monstrous sea of blankets that lay on our bed before diving in myself. Before shifting into yet another deep slumber. I toss and turn at  the nightmares. No matter how hard I tried nothing worked. I wake up sweating and shoot up in bed. "Are you ok?" Seth lifts her head up in alarm. "Yea just a nightmare". She scoots closer to me and wraps her arms around me. "It's all ok now". I know she was the girl and usually the guy is suppose to make the girl feel safer. But when I had nights like that her touch was enough to allow me to sleep peacefully throughout the entire week. I usually took medicine for these types of nights but I neglected to. Because Seth alone was my cure for a good night sleep. I feel her warmth radiating off of her body before again for the 3rd time finally falling asleep.
