I can't beleive it. Alone again. I looked at my feet and saw the grave with his name engraved on it. The soil freshly replaced with his casket inside. As usual, I'm in all black. Why not? It's a funeral after all. I made a special request with the graves keeper. He nodded as he finished shoveling the last pile of dirt. I took out the packet of seeds that he gave me before he got in his car to go home.

"Keep these, plant them where you would feel they would be best cared for." He said and held my hands together, holding the packet of white rose seeds. He knew I loved the outdoors.

"I will. Let's be sure to have these for our wedding." I said and rubbed noses with him. He chuckled happily and pulled me closer to him.

"I love you." He said and kissed my forehead.

"I love you more." I said teasing him.

"I doubt that." He said and got in his car to leave. Later I got a call from a nearby hospital.

He was in a car accident. Texting and driving was involved. I hurried to his hospital and practically sprinted to his room. He was in a body cast. An oxygen tank attached to a tube going in his throat, an IV in both his arms. The doctor's words were a blur, but I got what he was saying.

They couldn't do anything to help him.

After that, I kissed his lips for the last time, and they turned off the heart monitor with the dreadful steady beep.

I planted the roses around his grave and, a new starting tradition when I see his grave, kiss the top of it. It's amazing how fast you could lose someone you totally care about in the literal blink of an eye. We all need to appreciate the time we have and have people along side us to do it with. So please...
