After many tests and challenges, Klaus Goldstein was officially working for the Ministry of Magical Justice. On his first day, he would follow one of his superiors around and presence an interrogatory. Klaus hoped that this person would lead him to Liz, or at least explain what she had been done all this time.
"And these are the dungeons. Here we retain criminals until they are sent to prison or a trial. The dangerous ones are sent directly to jail. Understood, Klaus?"
"Yes." He answered firmly.
"Good. The tour ends here. Now you will come with me to interrogate a suspect. Nevertheless, you are not allowed to ask him anything unless I say so." Sena Lane, Klaus superior, was a tall, toned woman. She had black, curly hair that grew up to her shoulders, and ebony skin. Her eyes were a deep dark blue, making her gaze feel as cold as winter. She was in charge of the dark magic department.
They went down long, marble stairs until they got to a hallway with many doors. As they were marching down the hallway, the sound of screams and maniac laughters that came from inside the rooms sent a chill down Klaus' spine.
"It's not what you think" Sena told him. "We are not allowed to use violence in the interrogatories unless we are being attacked. But as you surely know, dark magic twists your mind. Most of the people in there are insane fanatics." Sena's explanation, rather than calm Klaus down, made him even more uneasy.
"Who is the person we are dealing with today?" He asked, trying to hide his growing fear.
"It's a man we belive to be connected with the wizardess that destroyed Gedonelune Academy. One of our agents found him drunk in an alley, blabbering about knowing Liz Hart. So we held him here to see if he actually knows something."
Klaus' heart skipped a beat at the sound of her name. On top of it, that man right there might be the key to finding her. They suddenly stopped in front of a wooden door. Sena took a key out of her pocket and opened the door. Inside the room, a man was tied up to a chair. In front of him there were a table with another three chairs. Sena sat down in the one in the middle and Klaus took the one on her right. Short after that, the door opened and another person came in. He was a tan, brown-haired man. He had a serious expression on his face, and upon entering the room, he locked the door behind him and sat down next to Sena.
He looked at Klaus and spoke. "Goldstein, right? Pleased to meet you. I've heard a lot about you. I'm agent Scott Wordsworth, by the way." His voice was sweet and caressing, mismatching his semblance.
"Pleased to meet you too, sir." Klaus nodded.
"Now, we should wake him up, shouldn't we?"Scott held out his wand and waved it around. Without saying a word, golden lights emerged from it, surrounding the stranger in front of them. The suspect started to apen his eyes with a groan and looked up.
"Wh...What the hell?" He said, in a weak voice. "Where...am I? What am I doing here?"
"Morning" said Scott "This is an interrogatory. You are in the Ministry of Magical Security. I found you today at dawn. What is your name?"
"Azad... Azad Burak...gazi" he replied.
"Very Well" Scott stated "I found you today, drunk as hell, talking about the criminal Liz Hart. What does she mean to you?"
Liz's name was like a slap in the face for Azad. He opened his hazel eyes and stared at Scott. "The Queen..." he mumbled, a glimpse of madness could be heard in his cracking voice. "You are talking about the Queen you are! Yes, she is the most powerfull wizardess of all times! She will take her rightful position! You just watch!" His voice was rising more and more with every word. Klaus was stunned, contrary to Sena and Scott, who didn't even blink.
Sena cleared her throat and turned to Azad "Have you ever met her?"
"Met her!? I spent half a year by her side! You wouldn't have recognized her, when she came to me, she couldn't even cast a basic spell. But with my help, she learned to tame her magic. She can talk to animals! Not only that, she can make them do her bidding! And she can time travel, yes she can! She showed this to me!"
"And how exactly did she show you?" Sena inquiered. Her voice was as firm as always. If she was nervous, Klaus couldn't detect it.
"She...she traveled to the future. I was watching through a mirror. She traveled to this...it was like a...ceremony, you see. A graduation ceremony it was. She waved at someone. It was this strange man, he was... he was..." Azad laid his eyes on Klaus and froze. "You!!" he screamed "It was you who I saw on the reflection!"
Scott turned his head towards Klaus, who was stupefied, his eyes popping open as he covered his mouth with his hand. Sena, on the other hand, kept a straight face. "Yes, that's normal. They were lovers." Both Klaus and Scott were now staring at Sena. "we'll talk about that later. What else do you recall from being with Liz?"
"Oh..." Azad mumbled. His droopy eyes hopped from Sena to Klaus every now and then. "She only aimed to destroy that hideous wizarding school when I met her, you see...but I told her, I told her she could do much more. With her abilities, with the power she had within her, she could become Queen! And me and my mates started calling her Queen. She brought back dragons, you see! She is incredible! They were extinct, and she brought them back! And tamed them in no time! Soon, she gained many followers on the faraway lands we met. And she is starting to dismantle Gedonelune! And this land will be ours!" After this, Azad spit out a maniac cackle that seemed to go on forever.
"So" Sena interrupted "If you are so loyal to her, why are you telling us all this?"
"Because I am dreaming, of course" Azad replied. "Soon I will wake up and the Queen will come pick me up!"
------------------------------------------------------
Sena locked the door behind her and turned around to face Klaus and Scott.
"What was all that? How did you know about Klaus and Hart!?" Scott yelled.
"First of all, I am your superior, so don't you yell at me. Second, I happened to be close to Headmaster Randolph. And I used to lead the search team that looked for Hart when she first disappeared. I intercepted all of the mail sent to her in the last ten years. I know all about her and Klaus, so when she attacked, I knew Klaus was no worth of interrogation. Besides, the day he showed up for the trials at the Ministry, I knew I would take him for her case."
"But...don't you think...what if he still..." Scott spoke as if Klaus wasn't behind them.
"Listen. I promised Randolph I would find the girl, and then I promised the King I would find the dark wizardess. Klaus is nowhere near obligated to harm her. What do you think, Klaus?"
"I am loyal to the Kingdom." Was the only thing that came to Klaus' mind, as he was trying to process everything that had just happened.
"I am pleased to hear that." Sena responded.
