Hey guys! I really wanted to make this chapter because of something that has gone in my life. I hope you enjoy it and tell me in the comments of this has helped get over your fear.
First of all, I'm not afraid of a lot of things. And when I say getting over your fears I don't mean if you are afraid of murders and clowns or whatever. (It's okay I'm scared of the dark so you're not alone) I mean I want to help you face the fears that hold you back from what you want to do in life.
I have always been afraid of speaking publicly. I don't care if I'm sitting down in my seat but if I am standing in front of the whole class, I stutter, I shake, my voice shakes, I can't talk, and I hate the eyes on me. I don't know why this started but it happens. Believe it or not, it actually affects my life in a major way. It's hard to get a grade where I have to present something, it's hard to talk to a huge group of people, and it's hard to do a lot of other things.
I had to say a 3 minute speech at my 8th grade graduation and I was terrified. I spoke too fast and mumbled, but when I said it in front of hundreds of people there I was okay. I messed up big time but I don't think too many people noticed. The important part was that I did it and I did it confidently. I wrote this speech that took me hours to write and I knew I was going to say it well.
I've gotten a lot better with this fear. Like recently I had to present a project for Spanish and I freaked out. In the end, it was a good project and I did fine on it. That was my story so today I am going to help you get over any fear you want. I might be going through this fear a little but I've gotten so much better with handling it (even if I need to take a breath before I speak publicly). This is how I handled my fear:
1. I thought to myself what was going to happen- I thought to myself over and over again the scenario that was most likely going to happen. Don't ever think the worst, but do the complete opposite. Think the best. Once you keep thinking about it, you'll slowly calm down about what you are going to do.
2. I knew it was going to be okay- You have to say to yourself that it will be okay. No matter what your biggest fear is. If other people can do it, so can you. This is sometimes really hard to do, but just take a deep breath and go for it.
3. Practice what you are going to do or say- By doing this you can make the scenario that you had in your head come to life. When you practice what you're going to say in these situations, you'll know what to do when you have to do it.
4. Just do it- As the time gets closer, you are going to freak out more and probably forget the first 3 steps I just said. Just remember those steps, take a deep breath and just do it! I know you can do it!! I believe in you!
I hope this helped you as much as these tips have helped me. I hate that my fear held me back from things I wanted to do or I had to do. No matter what it is, I know you can conquer it. Vote if you enjoyed and comment a fear you want to conquer or a fear that you have conquered already.
Stay beautiful, stay you, and I love you!
