"Hey there's a football game next week Monday. Wanna go?"

I looked at Angie and grinned widely. "Of course, I didn't know you liked football."

"I don't, no way! I just like watching the cute boys that will never know i exist," she said, smiling brightly making me laugh.

"Very nice, I'm excited."

"Hey tomorrows the dance. Has anyone asked you?"

"Stop," I warned as we sat on my bed, Thursday afternoon.

"Stop what," Angie asked, putting a handful of crisps into her mouth.

"He's not going to ask me," I said, looking out into the sheeting rain.

"How do you know that? He might, there's still tomorrow!"

"Angie, when was the last time you saw Harry Styles at a school dance, huh? He doesn't go to those things."

"You could change him."

"No I couldn't. We did a project together now we're lab partners, there's nothing more here, I'm not his type," I said, grabbing a few crisps for myself.

"Vagina is his type," Ange said, smirking.

"Yea but.. I'm not like them Ange. The other girls wear short skirts and open tops. I could tell where they got their underwear from a meter away. I'm just not like the girls he usually hangs out with."

"You're different."

"Different isn't always good Ange, this isn't the movies."

"How cool would it be if it was, though?"

I laughed lightheartedly and through a pillow at her head making her laugh along with me. It doesn't take much to make Angie laugh or smile. Anything will do, really.

-----

"Oh baby you look stunning, can I have a picture?"

I smiled at my mum as I stood with my dress on alongside Angie.

"Mum please," I begged, smiling in embarrassment.

"No! come on now, smile widely girls."

I grinned with Ange and finally we got to actually walk inside the school. It looked perfect, just how we had made it look. I knew he wouldn't be there but I couldn't help myself from hoping. I stood there like an idiot, looking around for Harry and he wasnt there.

"Looking for someone, beautiful?"

I turned around and smiled kindly at Chad, a well known guy throughout the school.

"Are you lost," I asked, frowning. Chad laughed and shook his head.

"Yea you are extremely cute. Care to dance?"

"uhm.. no thanks, I'm with-"

"No that's okay, go ahead."

I glared at Angie making her smile kindly. It wasn't that Chad wasn't hot, it was just that he was obviously joking around or it was a pity dance. I couldn't figure out which one of them was worse.

"Okay sure," I said, taking his hand which was smooth.

"So Rose, right?"

"Yea, You're Chad, right?"

"I am, are you really here alone, or are you just hard to get," he asked, smirking slightly.

"Uhm, no I'm here alone, or with my friend," I said, nervously and even I could hear the shakiness in my voice.
