I met him on a Tuesday. It was raining and I was running from the library back towards the bus stop. Looking from side to side I took a deep breath then stepped out of the warm library into the freezing rain, running as fast as I could, with my jacket over my head, sheltering me as well as my books from the rain.
"Oof!"
I stumbled back, and then slipped on the pavement, falling flat on my butt. I glanced to the side and saw my jacket lying in a puddle of mud. I thanked God that my books were still almost fine in my shoulder bag.
"Sorry love.
"At the sound of the thick British accent I looked up, meeting the eyes of Harry. He had dark brown hair, flopping onto his forehead in little loose curls. He could look like an innocent guy. The tattoos and piercings make people steer clear of him though.
"Uhm.. that's okay, don't worry about it," I said, standing up and grabbing my jacket, allowing the rain to soak me through completely.
"The library, huh?" I squinted at him through the rain that was pelting down, almost hurting me.
Yea," I said, un-sure of whether or not I should run away or carry on with this pointless conversation.
"Well.. do you need a ride somewhere? I'm just guessing you were going towards the bus stop?"
I nodded, not quite trusting my voice in that moment. "No that's okay, I can just take the bus. You don't know where I live anyway," I smiled slightly, trying to end this encounter as fast as possible. "No really, I'll drive you."
Giving up, I nodded. His car was black and sleek, no scratches in sight. I couldn't tell you the make because I'm terrible with cars but it was beautiful.
"Hop in," Harry said, smirking that very famous smirk.
"I'll wet the seats," I pointed out and he laughed.
It was beautiful. His teeth weren't perfectly straight. A dentist would say he needed braces but it looked perfect to me. A crooked smile, the best kind. My new favourite kind of smile. "With me in your company, probably. No, it's alright, just hop in before you get sick," he said, making my cheeks turn a light red, heating up my entire face.
"Okay," I said under my breath as Harry opened the passenger sides door, allowing me to slip inside while he ran around to the other side. "What am I doing," I whispered to my myself under my breath just before the drivers side opened and in climbed Harry, little droplets of rain dripping down his face.
"So.. Directions?"
I nodded then reached back and felt for the seat belt, not sure how well Harry would drive.
"Okay uhm just drive straight along here, and then take a left at the second traffic light," I said, my hands shaking as I clicked the belt into place.
I'm not sure what it was about him that made me nervous. Maybe it was the fact that he seemed confident all the time, or it could have been his persona. Everyone was nervous around him. He was either someone you tried to impress or you stayed away from. For some reason I wasn't doing any of those things. I was being myself.
"So.. What's your name? I'm Harry."
I let my eyes wonder over to Harry's side of the car. His green eyes moved to meet mine making my pulse race.
"Uhm.. Yea I'm Rose," I spoke, my voice shaking slightly. Harry smirked then turned left
. "Nice to meet you.. Rose," he said, my cheeks blushing as he spoke my name.
