After telling Ezra what happened, I watch out one of the windows as the sun begins to set. I can't fall asleep with all the thoughts rushing around inside my head. Fifty-two of them. Getting out of here is going to be harder than I had thought.

"Trevor, you idiot, we aren't supposed to be down here!" a voice whispers sharply, and I move over to the bars keeping me in. Ezra and I lock eyes, as we both try are best to see in the darkening room.

Two boys are walking down the hallway. "I don't care! Tamsin is in here somewhere," Trevor says, and his friend stays closely by his side, but keeps glancing over his shoulder. Whatever they are doing, they shouldn't be.

"Hey!" I call, and both of them look my way, stepping backward.

One of them hits his friend repeatedly, "That's the girl! That's the girl!" Trevor looks at me like some kind of animal in a cage... oh wait. "The Killer girl!" he continues, and the other shoves him away to get him to stop smacking him. The two look completely different. Trevor's got this fiery red hair, while the others is a beach-y blonde.

"Shut up, Trevor, or we'll get caught!" He takes a step towards me, "Are you really one of them?" I want to explain myself, but Ezra speaks up. I'm glad he does too, since it's starting to get awkward.

"Hey, I'm here too." Ezra calls, yawning. "Don't give her all the attention." He smiles my way, then focuses back on the two, "I remember you guys: Trevor the mechanic, and Christian the shooter. Might I ask why you are down here?" he asks them, changing the subject.

Christian ignores his question, "And you're Ezra Weigns, the guy who-" I can't help, but wanting to know what he was going to say.

"What's done is done," Ezra snaps. "Now get out of here."

"Not until I find Tamsin." Trevor says, shooting him a look. Christian seems to be siding with Ezra on leaving, but Trevor doesn't take a step towards the entrance. There must be more cells out the opposite door. How many do they have?

"Tamsin?" Ezra arches an eyebrow. "As in Aden's little sister? Why would she be down here?"

Trevor doesn't like all the time he's wasting, but still answers, "Because Aden's a huge-"

"Be nice." Christian cuts his friend off.

The redhead, Trevor, shrugs, then continues, "He decided that the only way to contain her 'crazy ideas' involved locking her up for the night."

Ezra laughs, and the whole room seems to loose some tension when he does so.

"You think this is funny, Murderer?"

Ezra's expression is deadly, and I wonder how he earned the nickname, "No. It's just you're looking in the wrong spot, Idiot. Aden wouldn't lock her in a cell. She's probably in some nice room with an actual bed," he motions at the floor, where he's been sleeping.

Trevor and Christian exchange a glance, then nod. They look at me once more before leaving entirely. I lean back against the wall, looking over to Ezra. He seems a bit upset, and clearly him and those guys hadn't gotten along before he was locked up. I'd like to learn more, but decide not to be like Aden and pry.

Getting through the night feels like it's been a whole year, but when I see the first bit of light unfold in the sky, I instantly perk up. A new day, a new opportunity to escape. Somehow Ezra got himself to fall asleep, and I decide not to wake him up from it.

Two hours later, Aden comes to visit with food. I assume it's from what they've farmed, which I don't know how they're doing, since it's freezing. I devour the food as quickly as possible, then he places some in Ezra's cell for him when he wakes.
