Ding Dong. Came the sound of the doorbell. I looked up in surprise. It was 9:00 at night. We weren't expecting company, so of course I wondered who was ringing our doorbell at this bloody hour. I mentally made a not to stop saying bloody then I realized that it was what my mom wanted. I shook my head and decided to revoke my note-to-self. I got up to answer the door, but I was elbowed out of the way by my mother, who rushed to the door a second before I could. A man was standing outside the door with a letter in his hand. I craned my neck to see who it was from, but he shifted so that it the name wasn't visible.
"Come inside sir, may I ask your name?" That was my mom. Too trusting with strangers, not trusting enough with family.
"Thank you Miss. I have had a long journey." He looked at me.
"What do you want?" I asked, a little harsh. He looked taken aback at my tone.
"Well to see you if course!" The man stated, as though it was obvious.
"Well, come sit down sir!" My mother said, always the polite one.
"So, Miss Olivia." The man said. I nodded.
"Yes?" I asked, sounding bored.
"How would you feel if I told you that you are a witch?"
