Chapter 3

(First part, anyway)

"Kya." We all clapped and cheered as the professor called Kya up. "Choose wisely." He motioned to 5 pokeballs that lay motionless on the table.

"Um..." Kya looked back at us nervously, and we urged her to choose.

"Choose the cutest one!" I smiled.

"They're all the same!!" She laughed. She put her hand on the third one, then took it off. "What's that one over there?" She pointed towards one hidden behind some papers.

"You aren't suppose to know about that one.." The professor hid it in his pocket.

"I want that one." She pointing towards his pocket.

"Whatever you say.." He handed her the ball, and we all cheered loudly.

When the crowd cleared up, everyone went back home or to their friend's house, except Ruby, Kya, and I. Vulpix and Fennekin played in the grass while we sat and watched. "Well, open it!!" Ruby whispered excitedly.

"Okay!" Kya tossed the ball in the air, and it landed in her hand. Nothing happened. "What?" Kya looked confused and tried again. And again. And again. "DARN BALL!!" She threw it forwards, in tears, and we saw a bright flash. A Phione sat, staring straight at Kya.

"Kya...Phione don't exist..They were all caught a long time ago.." Ruby said, watching the pokemon.

"How in the world..?" I watched it too.

"I SUMMONED A PHIONE!!" Kya excitedly wiped away her tears and ran towards it. The Phione saw it as an attack, and shot Kya into the air, soaking wet, and landed on the cement next to us. She sat up, and quietly said "I thought this was a nice pokemon."

"Well it saw your running as an attack." Ruby explained.

"Hm..Come here, Phione!" I held out my hands, and the pokemon floated over. "It's working!" I smiled. The phione looked at me, sprayed me with water that left me on my back, and jumped on Kya's lap.

She smiled, but it was obvious she was hurting. "It'll be okay." She smiled.
