THE PRINCESS

I am Joel. The Prince of the Amazing Kingdom Phoenix. I have a happy family. I have great friends. I live in a splendid castle with amazing meals every night. And the most comfortable beds in the land.

But something is still missing. I have the nicest clothes in the kingdom. I have my own maids. I have 5 pets. One horse, One cat, Two dogs and One hamster. Yet I'm still very lonely.

And empty inside. As I'm walking down these large empty halls. Full of paintings and statues. Is this what I really want? Do I really want to life an extravagant life? I ponder and ponder as I go down the stairs.

Leading to the large doors of the Castle. I went out and was greeted by the fresh air. And people saying hi. It was getting crowded out there. I needed my own space. I went into my stables and got my horse.

I sat on it and started riding a way. I went to the country side. I've done this lots of times. And my family allows me to do it. As I get there I see a girl. A young lady. Riding on her horse freely. I want to live her life.

I run after her and we started racing. Wow she's fast. I saw her smirk as she told her horse to go faster. Sooner we stopped racing and actually talked. "What's your name, dear maiden?" I asked her while kissing her hand.

"Please. No need to be all formal. The name's Elizabeth." She says taking of her hat. Making her hair sway in the wind. Her hair is pink and smells like bubblegum with strawberry mint. Her face is blush pink and her eyes are blue and glittery.

She's beautiful. I bet I was staring since she blushed and giggled. While calling my name. "Oh sorry. You look gorgeous. Elizabeth." I tell her truthfully. She smiles and thanks me. She asks me my name.
Should I tell her the truth? I hope she wont act any different.

"I'm Joel. Prince of this kingdom but please dont act like I am one. I just want to have a normal life. At least once." I said and she nods. "Well. There's a little campfire at my village near the lake later tonight. Want to stop by?"

She asks me while standing up, getting ready to leave. "Sure. But where do I meet you?" I ask her excitedly and curiously. "Outside of your gate. Now I got to go." She gives me a sweet smile and leaves. I wave bye and get on my horse.

I then get back home and think of that girl. She is amazing. She is so care free. Wild. She is gorgeous. She has everything. My heart is captured by her. My mind can't stop thinking about her. I want her.
I need her. I know we just newly met.

But this is love. I tell my parents about it and they allowed me to go. I just need to stay safe. They said. I nodded and dressed up in a less formal attire. My mom told me to give her this golden necklace. Since she might like it.

It's just a heart with some gems on it. But it's beautiful. I get on my horse and go to the front of the gate. I see Lizzie there. Wearing a white dress. Wow. She's hot. I bow down and she curtsied. "Good evening my fair maiden." I tell her all fancily and we both laugh.

"Come on. Let's get going." We both go to the campfire and see some of my friends there. I wave and they have a shock face on. "Lizzie is this the Joel you've been talking bout?" Erick one of my friends. Asked Elizabeth.

And she nodded. "Why what's wrong? Doesn't mean if he's a prince, he cant be here. He wants to live a normal life for once. Let him have it." Elizabeth says. I smile. "Thanks Elizabeth." "Please call me Lizzie." She says giggling and holding my hand.

I nod. "Okay then Lizzie. Do you want to dance?" I ask and she nods.   We both gently sway to the soft music as others start to join in. We all start dancing under the moon and stars. Everything looks wonderful. I want to live this life always.

Soon the party calmed down and everyone started going home. Lizzie and I were left at the campfire. Telling stories under the moonlit and starlit sky. Her eyes were glimmering. She is beautiful.
"Lizzie. Did I ever tell you. You are beautiful. So beautiful. And that I love you so much." I said. While taking out the necklace.

"And my mom told me to give you this necklace." I said as I put it on her. She was blushing red. I probably was too. We were staring into each others eyes. When I made the move. I. I kissed her. And she kissed back surprisingly.

When we pulled away. I explained everything to her. "Lizzie. You were the one. That made me notice. That staying out here. Isn't so bad after all. It's amazing out here. Especially that I can spend it with you. I love you Lizzie."

"You have captured my heart and my soul. I want you. You have changed my life even tho we just met a while ago in the morning. But you changed me. Today was the best day ever. And I wouldnt change it for the world."

I said while getting my coat and standing up. "WAIT." Lizzie shouted. And I turned around. "I feel the same way Joel. I love you too. I'm just too shy. Since your a prince and I'm just a villager. Thank you for today. You're the best." She said as she kissed my cheek and got on her horse.

She then rode off. The ride back to the castle was dark. But the moon was always there to shine. When I got back home. I told my mom and dad about it. And they both wanted to meet her. I said she was shy and all but they still insisted. So I'm going to be asking Lizzie tomorrow.

I'm now on my way to the place where Lizzie and I usually hang out. I'm really excited. I am here at the country side and I see Lizzie sitting down by the tree. I went near her. She was crying. I called her and she stood up and ran to me.

She hugged me tightly and I hugged her back too. But even tighter. I let her cry it all out. Soon enough she was feeling better. And I asked her. "What's wrong?" She looked up at me with sad eyes. "My parents won't allow me to ride on my horse anymore."

"It's okay. We can still see each other. I'll just use my hor---" lizzie then cut me off. "NO! There is no easier way of saying this. But they won't allow me to get near you anymore because they think that your family is cruel." She says tearing up.

"My family started hating your family ever since you stole our wheat farms. That was our only way of living but then your great great grandfather used it to make it a pub. And Now we dont have that wheat farm anymore. I still do love you Joel. But My family won't change their mind."

"And I dont want you to get hurt. So it's better for us. To stay away. And move on. You deserve someone better than me." Lizzie says leaving me there crying. As she throws me the necklace back. She was my everything and all of my everything just faded away from me in just a second. I thought she could've been my princess, my one and only.

But No. Everything had to get broken apart.
