As Soul Evans strolled down the path to his house, he thought of how he could fix his current situation. He had skipped Stein's class, so he could get Maka an anniversary gift, and Maka was shunning him. Maka had no clue as to why he went out and he wouldn't tell her either, which explains the shunning.

      Soul's P.O.V.

Why can't she just understand that I am doing my best to get her an amazing gift. Maka doesn't understand how difficult it is to get a gift, especially when you live with your partner. As Soul continued to walk, he looked around to where he was. The surroundings were not familiar. "Great. I have no idea where I am. Wait- where is my jacket?"Soul searched the area for a while but realized missing the jacket he was wearing the morning. "JUST ANOTHER WONDERFUL ADDITION TO MY DAY!" Soul screamed out in this seemingly empty forest. Soul continued to regret spacing out as he wandered about the forest. The sun was starting to set.

I should find some shelter before it gets too dark...

But right in the middle of Soul's thought, he was hit by a blunt object from behind. Soul immediately collapsed and fell to the ground, unconscious.

                            Maka's P.O.V.

"Well he should've at least told me his reason for leaving class." Maka told her group consisting of Tsubaki, Liz, and Patty. The girls had decided to get coffee and find out why Maka was so upset. I had explained to the girls how Soul had not shown up to class without telling her why. "Soul must have a reason for not telling you... maybe he is trying to do something good?" Tsubaki timidly said. "Maybe Soul is just trying to have some time alone. I mean you guys
have been together for years, and dating for nearly one year. You never leave his side."Liz said as she sipped her coffee. "Well I don't think he cares about tomorrow at all..." Maka Sighed. But really I just need to be able to see him. Why would he run away from me?

Soul's P.O.V.

I woke up in a dark room, and I could feel the egg-sized lump on my head. The room was unfamiliar, and I was confused about what had happened. I got out of bed and saw a woman who looked familiar cooking food in the kitchen. As much as I would like to admit that I am as nimble as Blair as a cat, I can't. I made a large creaking sound when walking across the floor. The woman turned around and I met her deep violet eyes. "Why hello Mr.Evans." I met her eyes and realized she was luna, a witch that I learned about at the academy. I tried to run but she stopped me and I had no choice but to stay in the house. It has been rumored that she has the ability to make you lose all of your desires, to make you free of your pain.

Maybe is should just submit- I have nothing to lose. Maybe this is something I need, to just not be in this pain. It is such a petty subject, yet she isn't being understanding. I should leave Maka, so I don't cause any more trouble.

As the witch reached down and placed her hand under Soul's chin, she lifted his head up to meet her gaze. "Will you leave everything in this world behind, in exchange you can be with me forever. We can be eternal, painless, and subliminally happy." As soul pondered this question, he saw the witch wearing something familiar- his jacket that was a gift from Maka. His heart ached for her- he knew he needed to find her. "No. I have other places to be besides here." As the witch had a surprised look on her face, Soul made his arm into a scythe blade and swung. Luna the witch ducked, but the blade still swiped part of her arm. Soul took this chance to take the jacket and run into the forest.  I have done this all for you, and I will go on more in this life- for you Maka.

                            Maka's P.O.V.

After the coffee with her friends, I decided to look for soul where he would most definitely be- in the park where our whole group once played basketball. Soul's words echoed in my head- the last words he had ever said to me- "You can't understand what I am doing! You have to trust me, I promise it will all be ok." "Soul I just want to find you so we can talk, I want to go home, please answer me!" I could hear a muffled yell back from deep in the forest. I could sense Soul's wavelength. I bolted in the direction of where I felt his wavelength, but as soon as I arrived to where I felt it, I could feel it. Soul had seemingly disappeared. "This better not be a joke Soul!" There was an eerie silence across the forest, and suddenly there was a crash from behind me. There was a witch- a familiar one at that. " Ah so you are the "other plans" the boy meant." Luna chided sarcastically. Wait does she mean Soul? The witch had pinned me down in what seemed like a second. I was off of my game. I needed my partner, but he was nowhere to be seen, heard, or felt. The witch looked me in the eyes, and I saw how furious she was, with those deep violet eyes glistening with hatred. "Well your partner will not show up anytime soon. I felt him here, but he has left this area. He used you as bait so he could get away.  That is so rude! Well, I will do you a favor and kill you first, and kill him next, so don't worry. I will end this pain soon." Is she serious, has soul's abandoned me? "N-No! I-It can't be possible!" Tears fell down my eyes as I thought of Soul, and his idiotic grin he got when he was right, or all of the adventures we went through together- the soul collecting, the black blood, making new friends, defeating the Kishin, love, and being there for each other- every day. "Yes! He has abandoned you!" The witch laughed. She prepared her spell to kill me, and she started chanting. I didn't stop her. I accepted this, i couldn't do anything. Tears continued to fall down my face. I couldn't do anything without Soul. I was nothing without him. He is my everything. I love Soul, and if I can't be by his side, taking on our adventures, there is not point to it all. I prepared to die, but I heard a yell from above "MAKA GET UP!" Soul came down and jumped down, turning his arm into a surge and slashing through the witch. The witch fell back off me, and she manifested into a purple soul. I sat back in awe and silence, for Soul had saved me. Me.

Soul looked me in the eyes and said this one phrase: "It is all ok Maka's, happy anniversary." I broke down. This was a such a simple phrase, but it held so much meaning. I needed to hear this, to know he remembered and cared. I was willing to do anything for him, even forget about this all, just so I can be with him right now. I need Soul Evans. I won't deny it any longer.

I looked at him and jumped into his arms. I was crying and curing him for ever leaving me. We both sat down after that and I looked at him and and asked him why he was being like he was earlier today. He sat silent for a minute and pulled something small from his pocket- a small box. In the bad, there was a necklace with a silver moon studded with diamonds, and a set of silver star earrings to match it. "Happy anniversary Maka, I would do anything to see the look you have now, I could do it all again to see this. I love you Maka." Soul and I kissed under the moonlight that night, and I remembered it forever form there, for the rest of my days. I love Soul Evans, and he loves me, and nothing can take that away.
