I pull into my school parking lot, and find a parking spot next to my only friend, I'm not that good at keeping friends so Janine was the lucky winner of being my only friend. She looks over and grins, I open my car door, pulling on my backpack. Janine squeals "I missed you so much! How was your summer?"

I shrug and accept her hug "It was okay. How was yours?"

She looks at me and smiles "I went to Hawaii and I met a super cute guy!"

Talking about guys...his worn down car pulls up next to mine. He was my neighbor and the least acknowledged boy in our grade but everyone knew who he was. He was the most acknowledged to me at least. Every girl wanted him but was too afraid. I could easily recognize his mesmerizing blue eyes slightly hidden behind his stupid trendy glasses (that I think are fake)and messy brown hair. He glances at me for a moment and smiles.  I quickly look away and hide my face with my hand hoping that he doesn't see my tomato red face.

I look back at Janine who is slightly smirking.

"Tell me everything." I knew this would keep her talking, she babbled, flipped her  hair eye-catching red hair over her shoulder. When things got "exciting" I would nod and gasp when necessary. When we entered the building I saw the perfect movie scene, the halls were crowded, the couple that was always all over each other was on the left of the hall, a couple feet further, the cliquey girls. Opposite of them the cliquey jocks, between them a parade of band geeks and their huge instruments. The aerospace tech kids who never did anything except talk about  their newest model planes and the fashion kids who wheeled around mannequins and clothing racks down the hall. At the end of the hall stood  Evan and his crowd which was made of outcasts. Then there was me, who didn't fit into any of the groups even with popular Janine at my side.

Janine's hands snap in front of my face. "Did you hear me Andy?"

I look over "Huh?"

She rolls her dark brown eyes "How are your parents?"

I sigh "Same old, they're still not gonna divorce for Amanda."

Janine nods already glancing in the direction of the jocks "Are you okay?"

I nod and the bell saves me from further explanation,"See you later J." She waves, of course Janine is already walking with her posse. I snake through the crowd and struggle to get into my first class. I take my seat at the front of the class and the buzzing bell starts the class.

Evan slides in the seat in behind me, which is extremely odd because Evan is known to sit in the very back of the class. As our teacher attempts to silence the conversations, Evan taps my shoulder. I turn back hoping that my toothpaste did its job.

Evan asks "Can I borrow a pencil?"

I nod slightly and turn back to my pencil pouch, I find one pencil that happens to be the most pencil known to mankind. It has pink sparkles and my name engraved on it in gold. I feel my face burn with embarrassment when I hand it back to him

"Sorry,my parents haven't gone school supply shopping in a while." I nervously laugh.

He raises his eyebrows, his piercing sea blue eyes stare into mine "At least your parents go school supply shopping."

I mutter unsure what to say "I-uh-I'm sorry..." and turn back to face the board. I can feel my neck burning as I try to comprehend what he said. Oh shit what should I say back? I'm such an idiot! Idiot! Idiot Idiot!

Eventually the bell rings, I pack my things quickly hoping I can avoid a conversation with him. I feel my heart pounding in my ears as I nearly sprint out of my seat.

Then I hear his voice call after me "Andy wait up!"

My heart skips a beat as I turn slowly around hoping it was just my imagination but instead I see his tall figure walking towards me.

I look straight ahead to avoid his gaze "You almost forgot your precious pencil."

I smile "Oh yeah...Thanks for giving it back."

He walks with me down the hall "Sorry about what I said earlier. I normally don't blurt those things out but I felt comfortable with you."

I look up for a second and his eyes are looking into mine, I felt blood rush to my cheeks. "Don't worry about it. I've done it before."

Eventually we get to my locker and by some miracle Evan is still walking with me. This must be a joke or something. We talk for what seems like forever, we were both leaning into each other. I couldn't believe this was actually happening-Evan for the first ever was taking to me. A boy was talking to me because he wanted to, not because Janine was with me but because I was me and he was intrigued. The bell went off ending our conversation, he gave me his famous half smile his ocean green eyes squinted slightly making my heart melt.

"Let's talk more? " He asks as he is backing away.

I smile back at him "Sure."

As soon as Evan walks away, Janine comes up to me jumping up and down "Oh my God!!!! Tell me everything! When are you guys gonna go out? What are you wearing? No one has ever gone out with him but I hear he gets around at parties but who cares? You two would be the cutest!"

I snort "We were just talking and stuff. It's not a big deal."

Janine slaps my shoulder "Yes it is! Tell me!"

I sigh trying to contain my annoyance "Can I keep it to myself?"

Janine fake gasps "I tell you everything!"

I roll my eyes at her "Oh yeah! How about the time I found out you lost your virginity through rumors? Or the time you had your first kiss but told the whole grade first before you told me? Yeah you tell me everything! I'm done with this." I walk to my next class trying to focus on the better part of my day.
