Hey guys! Thanks so much for reading my first story!! A picture of Dalton on the side.

                     Callie’s POV~

“Callie! OMG I have great, great news!” Kara squealed, her blond curls bouncing as she jumped around excitedly. Her eyes had the crazed look to them, which could only mean one thing. Dalton Haynes. He’s the new big thing in the pop star world. He’s everybody’s “It Boy”. He has fans and people drooling over him constantly, so he can get away with whatever he wants. While the rest of us work our tails off for practically nothing, and have people trying to destroy us. To say I’m not a fan is an understatement.

I just started laughing at her reaction though.

“What is it?” I asked trying to calm my laughter down. She seemed unaffected by it as she continued her story in a serious tone. Which only proved to make it harder to hold the giggles in.

“OK.” She said trying to compose herself, she took a few deep breathes before continuing. “Dalton Haynes is going to come here!” She clapped a few more times. I must have had the most clueless expression on my face because she rolled her eyes and finished her story. “He’s coming to this school! We’re going to go to the same school with him!” She spoke dramatically, frantically waving her hands around as she spoke. She always does that when she’s really excited about something.

“Wait. Why is he going to school here?” I still didn’t believe her. We live in the middle of nowhere. He lives in the middle of somewhere. By that I mean, we live in the middle of the woods in Connecticut, and he lives in LA. I couldn’t think of a possible reason as to why he would come her in the first place. But Kara’s mom works in the school’s counseling department, so her information has to be somewhat accurate. Meaning, he was most likely actually going to attend school with us. Gross.

“He apparently got into some trouble back in LA and his parents thought it would be a good idea to take him away from that lifestyle. So they’re sending him here to live with some aunt that lives near here. I don’t really know the details.” She said.

“How long is he going to be here for?” I hoped it wasn’t going to be too long. But her answer pretty much shattered my dreams.

“About a year or so.” Kara looked so happy. All I could do was plaster a smile to my face while I inwardly cringed. It’s not like I really hated the guy, I just hated what came in his wake. As soon as the rest of the school finds out he’s going to go here, every girl’s hormones are going to be kicked into over drive and the school is going to turn into an emotional rollercoaster. There’s going to be so much drama and screaming girls. I’m really going to need to invest in a good pair of noise cancelling headphones.

“Ok, when does he start?” I didn’t really ask the question from the standpoint that I wanted to know everything about him. I more so wanted to know so I can prepare myself mentally, and physically to the chaos that is soon to come.

Kara smiled. “He’s going to start next week!” Great.

Dalton's POV~

“Mom you can’t do this!” I practically shouted. I looked to Dad for support, but he only nodded in agreement to Mom’s unreasonable punishment. “This is so unfair!” I stormed off to my room and slammed the door closed. It was childish but I didn’t care. What they were doing was completely unreasonable, and over the top. So what if I crashed their new car? Big deal, they can buy a new one! They keep saying that I’ve changed, and that I’ve let fame get to my head. Blah Blah Blah. But I’m still the same me! Same hair, same face, same person.

They were being completely unfair! I picked up a book off my desk and threw it at the wall to show how I felt about their idea.  They’re going to ship me off to live with some aunt I’ve never met, in the middle of nowhere! I had no say in the matter, which only made it worse. They just dropped that bombshell on me.

I mean, I have a social life. I have friends, a girlfriend. I have people to see, and stuff to do. I mean, my buddy Blaine is having a huge party next week, on the night of my girlfriend’s and my first month anniversary. Shelly said she has something big planned, and I think it’s going to be a good night.

Shelly isn’t a really deep person, but she’s really nice to look at. We have a simple relationship that doesn’t involve much talking. None of that stupid emotional stuff, we just find a mutual attraction in that we are both attractive people. We do what most attractive people do; we make out. We both get what we want, so it works.

I ran a hand through my hair, trying to think about a way to get out of this. I considered texting Blaine, but then decided against it and tossed my phone onto my bed. He couldn’t help me get out of this, when my parents made a decision. It was final.

I sat in my desk chair and considered ways to worm myself out of this situation when a soft nock on the door brought me out of my thoughts. Soon enough, my sister, Ellie poked her head between the door and the doorframe. She looked so small and young, even though she was only a year younger than me. She was sixteen, and I just turned seventeen last month. But when it came to wisdom, she completely outshone me.

“Hey, how are you doing?” she asked quietly, not wanted to rile me up.

“I’ve been a hell of a lot better.” I responded bitterly. I knew this wasn’t her fault, but I was too angry to show any form of kindness at the moment. She just nodded and entered the room, sitting on the floor.

“I’ve thought about it, and I don’t think it’s fair what they’re doing either.” She looked at me earnestly. “So I asked that I go with you, so you won’t have to go alone.” She started to fiddle with her hands and looked at me expectantly. I just looked back at her in shock.

“Ellie…you don’t have to do that.” I stated, slightly dumbfounded. She was always the one to sacrifice herself, but this was too far this time. She was going to give up her life here, to go with me. She’s willing to suffer along with me for my mistakes.

She must have seen the look on my face and known what I was about to say because she put up her hand to silence me and said, “Don’t say it. I’ve already gotten myself enrolled in that school with you.” And with that she picked herself up off the floor and left my room.
