Chapter 16;

Jake;

I make it to the parking lot unnoticed and head towards max,

"She's a character jake,she's been calling your alias name in her sleep" says max,

I look through the window and she barely opens her eyes and gives us the finger,

"Yeah she's quiet the character"I tell max as I thank him and drive away.

After driving for two hours,and then another hour through bumpy bush land We finally arrive to a run down cabin,

Max used it as a safe haven in the past as part of his job,I hold a still sleeping Dakota over my shoulder and unlock the door,I gently lay her on the bed and remove her clothes,god she is so beautiful,I tuck her in bed and go back outside to park the ute under bushes,I take the bags from the back and head back inside and lock the door,I dump the bags in the lounge room,and head to the warm body of Dakota,I strip out of my clothes and slip in beside her,she immediately senses me and has wrapped her body around mine,her head is nuzzled under my neck,I just hold her and fall into a sleeping bliss,

I wake up before her and untangle myself gently from her arms and legs even though that's exactly where I want to be,but I have to have a clear head to tell her the truth,I shower and grab the bags so Dakota can change into her clothes,but as soon as I get to the door, a flying Dakota slams into my chest,

She looks pissed but moves aside to let me pass and sits on the bed,I am looking for my clothes,when she all but demands to know where her clothes are and where we are?

I throw the bag in her direction and tell her to shower and meet me in the kitchen,I'm nervous and frustrated as it is and she isn't making things any easier,the kitten finally roars!

I see her enter the bathroom and I know she won't be in there for more than five minutes,so she can't linger in there for long,and right on cue she's finished,I've prepared her plate of toast on egg and a cup of orange juice,max really had the place stocked up for us,I'll probably name my first born after him,I chuckle a laugh at the thought,

She comes out with attitude,I can see it in her eyes,she sits without saying a word and begins to eat,I have finished my plate and I stare at her thinking where to begin,half way through her meal she places her knife and folk down gently and wipes the corners of her mouth and I can see her about to erupt,

Her;

I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't stare at me while I'm eating,

Me;

I would really appreciate it if you weren't a bitch,

Her;

Sorry I don't think I heard you clearly,you didn't just call me a bitch!

Me;

You heard me loud and clear Dakota,

Her;

You son of a bitch,how dare you! What gives you the right to treat me this way,

You know something funny Daniel,for one minute,just one fucking minute I thought I saw something in you,but I have no respect for scum of the earth like you!

Are you finished Dakota?

I need her to shut her mouth for one god damn minute,so I kiss her,she tries to push me away,but I hold her tight,I let go and look at her,

And I'm sorry to be the one to tell you but Armando's men found him,I'm sorry Dakota.

They killed him?

Oh my god Daniel sorry jake,they killed Nathan,they will kill us too,you don't know Armando like I do,he had my mother killed,he won't stop till he finds us,he will have you killed and he will make me suffer,

I hug her and tell her everything will be ok,I will make it my mission to make sure she is safe,but for now I'm happy just holding Dakota in my arms.
