Chapter 19;

Dakota;

I wear my my little pajama shorts and a singlet and jump under the covers and wait for jake,I hear him locking up before coming to bed,he places a rifle on his side of the bed and snuggles into me,"how long do we have to stay here"I ask him as he kisses my neck,he stops and moves my hair from my face with a serious look"your not happy here" he asks concerned!

"I'm happy here with you,"I tell him,"but we can't stay here without electricity and proper running water for long,look at my hair it looks like a mop,I don't even have time to condition it,"

"I love cave women they turn me on,but seriously I'm just waiting on a call to give us the all clear,its still not safe otherwise my contact would've called me,"

"But what if he doesn't call then what?

I had to ask him because the longer we stayed here the more anxious I became,

"Go to sleep Dakota,he'll call!

He turns away from me and falls asleep,

Jake;

I didn't mean to snap at her but I was becoming agitated too because max hasn't called and it's almost been a week,the problem is I can't call incase the number is being tracked,so I have to wait for him to call but I trust max with my life and he knows what he's doing,but Dakota is getting frustrated and afraid,I can sense it,I want out of here more than her but we have to do this right,so I tell her to sleep and I turn my back on her because I don't know what else to tell her.

Dakota;

I don't find Jake in bed when I wake up, so I go to the kitchen and make myself a coffee, I see a note from Jake that says "Gone hunting!"

So I sit on the verandah and drink my coffee,he'll probably be gone for two hours,I think I'll take a walk to waist time and find flowers deeper in the woods by the time Jake gets back,I go back inside and wear track pants and a t-shirt with runners,I grab Jakes nike hat,a bottle of water and a wicker basket for my flowers on my way out,I walk until I find the

most exotic flowers and pick as many as I can,I stop to take a sip of water because the sun has become warmer,I look back to the direction I came from and think about heading back,I don't know how long I've been gone but I'm hungry,so I start walking back,but I stop in my tracks when I hear something nearby,it's probably my imagination but I find myself walking faster and looking behind me,my heart is beating faster and I drop everything in my hands and I start to run and the last thing I see before I'm knocked unconscious is James.

Jake;

I kiss her before I get out of bed and I have a coffee,I jot down a quick note telling her I've gone hunting,if I'm lucky I'll find a wild pig and make her a candle lit dinner under the stars tonight to make up for last night,lm in luck today,I have my pig and just as I'm making my way back to the cabin my phone rings,

"Max speak to me"

"Jake take the girl out get the hell out of there , they're on to you,I've been trying to call you since yesterday but I just got through,I've sent someone down there but they're ahead of us,just run Jake"

"Fuuuuuck! I yell as I drop everything and sprint back to the cabin,there is no reception when I'm in the cabin but when I go further away from it max finally gets through, all I can think about is Dakota, what if they get to her before I do?oh my god I don't want to think about it,I just need to get there now!
