Chapter 32

Riko’s PoV

I couldn’t help it and I started crying watching the houses pass by. I looked down and realized I didn’t have my phone to contact starla at all. I just left and I couldn’t tell any of my friends. Tears streamed down my face as I thought of all of this.

I’ve left my most bestest friend and the person I love most in my life to live wih the people who call themselves my parents. I feel stupid, but isn’t this better? I should live with them and try to be with them. I know that they have Hiro’s number so I can call him sometime.

The thing is though I don’t think he would want to talk to me at all. He was really mad when I left, he didn’t even say goodbye. By this time I was completely slumped against the seat getting a headache aand just crying.

“What are you doing slumpped like that?” I heard Reba ask.

“I’m feeling a little sick.” I said. I wasn’t lying I was sick, I have been since the night before and I still don’t know what’s wrong.

“Then what are those tears for?” She asked like everything bad in the world awas my fault. I couldn’t help that I was crying it was just all coming out.

“Cause I’m going to miss everyone and I don’t have my phone.” I told her in a small voice my ears flattening even lower on my head and my tail wrapping around my waist.  

“You don’t need those humans anymore, you’re going to be with us and our own kind from now on.” She said and opened a compartment on the dash board and I saw asn green button. I looked at it confusedly and then glared at her realizing what she said.

She wasn’t paying any attention to me and sighed, “What is that for?” I asked just as she pressed it. Ten feet infront of the car a green portal opened and I gasped as we drove through it. We were then driving on a dirt road and I bounced in my seat. “What was that? Where are we?” I asked frantically.

The car slowed down to a stop and I looked out the door. My ears perked up as I saw all the pretty flowers. The sun was shining brightly and it looked as if everything was sparkling. I then look at Reba and Nira, but they were already getting out of the car.

I hesitantly unlocked my seat belt and the door opened next to me. Nira was there and he was smiling down at me. “This is our home.” He said and gestered to it. I saw little houses and kids that had ears and tails just like me. I smiled, I’m not the last of my kind.

“So this is where we come from?” I asked and he nodded. Some other Neko’s were walking up to me and I smiled shyly. I wasn’t really that prepared to meet others right now. I mean I had a tear stained face and all of this was going a bit fast for me. I saw a few that looked older that me and there were some that were younger.

All together there were about four Neko’s in front of me. I smiled at them, and they just stared at me. “Is that him?” They asked and Reba nodded, “Yes this is your lost brother.” She said and I gasped.

“T-they’re my family?” I asked and who seemed to be the youngest ran up and hugged me. I was shocked an then hugged him back. I have a huge family. I couldn’t believe all of this.

Nira smiled and patted my back, “Yes, son.” I smiled at them hugley and they smiled back.

“It’s nice to meet you all, I’m Nanashi… I mean Riko, but you can call me either I guess.” I said scratching the back of my head. It was kind of hard to remember my new name.

“You’ll only be called Riko here.” Reba said and I nodded. I odn’t understand why she is so harsh. I haven’t really done anything and I’m even coming to live with my family.

“Okay.” I said. “Um then just call me Riko.” I said and a girl with long black hair and pure white eyes came up to me freaking me out slightly.

“Hi!” She exclaimed happily smiling at me widely. “I’m the oldest out of everyone and my name is snow.” I nodded and she hugged me tightly. “It’s finally nice to actually have you with us.” She said and then kissed my cheek. I blushed slightly.

“Okay that’s enough snow.” Nira laughed, “Let the others meet him.” He said and snow let go of me. She was really pretty she had light skin like mine and then dark black hair to clash, but her eyes were a little weird for me to get used to. But think I’ll be able to do it, I mean it can’t be that hard to do.

A boy came up to me and he was about my height, he also had white hair but instead of having red eyes like me he had dark brown eyes. It was like looking at milk chocolate candy. I smiled and he smiled slightly back at me. “I’m ash.” He said and he held out his hand and I put my had in his and then he pulled me into a hug.

Everyone here is very friendly and they hug a lot. It makes me all warm and fuzzy. Then I felt something grab mny tail and pull roughly and I yelped tears stinging my eyes. I tured around to see what it was and it was the little one who hugged me.

As I looked closer I saw that it was a little girl who had red eyes like me. “You weren’t paying attention to me.” She said and crossed her arm.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know that I had to.” I told her. “What’s your name?” I bent down only a little bit ther platnum blond hair styled to the side.

“I’m Cynthia.” She smiled and showed me her little canine teeth. I patted her head.

“It’s nice to meet you cynthia.” I said and she glared slightly and slapped my hand away.

“Don’t treat me like a little kid!” she yelled and I chuckled. She reminded me of a smaller version of Reba, but cynthia was actually cute and not as intimidating. Yeah, I know I’m a bit of a wuss if I’m intimidated by a little kid, but they can be very scary okay. Very cute, but very scary.

“Okay, I won’t treat you like a little kid.” I said and stood up straight so she would have to look up at me. I smiled and then from the corner of my eyes saw another boy. He was taller than me and he was frowning. He didn’t seem very happy and I tried smiling to get him to smile.

He walked up to me and I stayed where I was even though his piercing black eyes and midnight hair scared me. “Hi.” I squeked on accident. I mentally faced palmed cince I wanted to try and sound stronger tha I was actually was.

He was now really close to me, like chests touching close. I wanted to back out so bad, but I didn’t think that would be a smart move. The boy then started to laugh and then everyone else laughed except Reba and I. I am officially confused, I had no clue what was going on.

The boy slapped his hand against my shoulder and shook me and I almost lost my balance. I then started to feel dizzy and I almost collapsed. It was hard for me to breath and I fell down to my knees as I grabbed my head.

By now everyone wasn’t laughing anymore and I was breathing heavily. “What’s happening to him?” I heard snow next to me. He voice was loud, too looud and my fists clenched and I closed my eyes tightly. There were voices all around me, too loud for me to hear a single one. I didn’t know what to do.

I then felt cold splash onto me and I immediately felt better, but I was wet. I was breathing heavily and I laid onto the the goround with Nira’s instructions. I sighed out in some what relief as I still had a pounding headache.

Now I only heard one voice and it was telling mt to open my eyes. After I fully comprehended it I slowly opened them and blinked reapeatedly. I breathed in deep breaths in and out to calm down. “What was that?” I asked not understanding.

“You’re at the age to be looking for a mate.” Reba said as I saw Nira was about to speak, he then looked over at his wife and she nodded at him. “And we’ve found the perfect person for you.” She continued on.

“What you found someone for me?” I can’t believe this what are they talking about? A mate? Someone for me? Can’t I choose someone that I want?

“Yes, she is an exceptional young neko, I bet you would love her.” She said and I saw a girl walk out from behind her.
