Melanie's POV

Suddenly the door bursted open. A familiar scent filled my nostrils. Liam stood in front of me in a protective stance.

"Stay back!" Liam growled, pushing me further behind him.

"Move" The other man growled. Wait...

"Liam..." I felt a sharp object lightly touch my shoulder as a firing sound ripped through the air. "Liam!" As if in slow-motion, Liam fell to the ground causing sliver blood to gush out of his shoulder. Blood splattered on the once clean, gray walls of the small, basement room.

"Melanie..."

"Melanie!" The two said in sync.

"Liam, I swear to God if you die on me-" He began laughing, choking on saliva in the process.

"It's my shoulder not my heart." He chuckled.

"Oh, shut up." I smiled. Well at least he wasn't dead, but I still needed to know if Victor was okay.

"Melanie." The man approached me. I couldn't make out who it was as my vision blurred due to the bright lights.

"Stay away from her..." Liam coughed out. I reached for a towel to dab on his wound, causing a loud growl to erupt from the man only a few feet away from us.

"Shut up, dude. Why aren't you trying to kill us anyway?" When he got ignored, I simply rolled my eyes and grabbed the towel. Why weren't we getting killed? I lightly dabbed the cloth on the bullet wound anyway, making Liam wince in pain.

"Sorry." I mumbled. Okay, Melanie. You got this. Just don't touch the blood and you'll be fine.

Me being me, I ignored my own warning thoughts and accidentally touched the blood, burning my skin.

"Stupid Wolfsbane. Couldn't just be a normal bullet now could you?" I huffed looking at my fresh burn mark on my hand. Liam chuckled, lifting my hand to his lips.

"You'll be fine." He whispered before lightly pecking it.

"Mine!" The man boomed. My eyes widened as my heart stopped. My gaze switched over to the man. How could I not recognize him?

"B-Blake?" I whispered, my voice cracking when tears fell down my face.

"Melanie." He laughed as he picked me up, spinning me. "I missed you so much..." He set me down, nuzzling his head in the crook of my neck.

"I missed you too." He pulled away from me, kissing me softly on the lips.

"Ehmm?" Liam coughed, gaining our attention. I giggled, never taking my eyes off my mate. "Well, family reunion time everyone. Grab hands and-"

"Okay, we get it." Blake sighed, kissing me on the forehead. "So, who the hell are you?"

"I am Melanie's secret lover." Liam smirked in victory as Blake's eyes turned red.

"Shut up." I scoffed.

"Whatever. I'm the beta of this pack," He used his arms to motion to
the room around us. "You know, the one you and your shit heads decided to destroy?" Blake remained silent as he looked away.

"Blake..."

"I didn't know what to do...you disappeared and..." He sighed, running a hand through his messy brown hair. "Even Cody was upset, and I-I just-"

"I'm here now, Blake. I'm sorry I ran..."

Liam said 'Blake and'

"Are they..." I trailed off when Blake nodded. "What about Cody?" I hate myself for causing them to hurt Victor's pack, but I'd hate myself more if Cody came with them.
