Royal Blood – Figure it Out

Chapter 7

Will didn't understand what I was talking about but he was quick to catch on when I pulled up slowly at the destination Daniel had texted me, Will had questioned what I was doing when I came out of my bedroom in my biking leather jacket; the situation was hilarious, his jokes about sudden death and being kidnapped by a 'gothic garden gnome' had all but fuelled my laughter as I drove to the race. I rolled to a stop in front of Daniel, watching the surprise on his face when he looked at Will
"Will Francis?" he asked in shock whilst I got off the bike and looked around, it was beautiful, a few tree's outlined the enormously gigantic race course, fairy lights wrapped themselves around the branches, tiki torches stood either side of the red line and lanterns hung in the air; to the left against the brick wall of an abandoned factory were metal kegs and tables where the older people played card games and even a bar area made up off wooden planks and extension leads for the electrics. Two dumpsters stood at one side next to a large outhouse which to me looked like a bar and stalls selling knock off merch , drink and drugs to anyone of any age hung about next to it.

"Yeah uh hey" Will looked at his feet, leaving me wondering about how they knew each other
"How do you two know each other?" I asked as Daniel ducked closer to me. "I sold drugs to his big brother a few years back and our computer wizard tracked them to me and almost got his AND my ass kicked" He said, raising his voice towards the end and checking over his shoulder to see if Will heard. I rolled my eyes and put my hand on his shoulder
"What's he doing here Pae? What if he tells!" Daniel said in a panicking voice.
"I trust him" I shrugged
"Well the race starts in ten, let him know we keep our mouths shut here" He huffed and stalked off.

I wandered back over to Will who looked out of place in his skinny jeans and baggy t-shirt under another flannel shirt above it; this being compared to leather cuts and alternative clothing. His glasses reflected the light from the trees and lanterns.
"Soooooo...." I spoke, rocking back and forth on my heels
"I should be annoyed that you've brought me here to my brother's dealer, surrounding me with ruffians and old men that look like angry Hagrids and allowing me to see all of this illegal activity but if anything I feel empowered" He laughed, nudging me with his hip.
"I get nervous about this all the time but when I'm here I feel like a badass" I chuckled, looking up at him, a hint of worry behind his eyes "I only race, nothing else" I spoke quickly, feeling completely lost- I didn't want to be the 'off the rails' girl that is a bad influence on someone who is clearly a good person.

He grinned and put his arm around my shoulders
"Don't worry, I don't think any different of you" He smiled down at me before realising how confident he was being and then he crawled back into his shell. Old Ken began shouting through the crowd at me, breaking up Will and I's conversation
"I'll be back soon, don't move and don't drink what they give you" I smiled at him, putting my helmet on and starting towards the beginners mark with my bike in my arms, pushing it with a little difficulty. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes after climbing onto my bike, counting to three I prayed, appreciating my family, my lifestyle and for some reason I found myself recognising Will in my prayers, Shaking my head at how cheesy and cringe worthy I was being I opened my eyes and readied myself, strategizing how I would win this race.

A woman wearing a glittery bikini sauntered into the middle of the dirt path that so happened to be in the middle of nowhere with sky high heels, I took a moment to appreciate her life- how she didn't die from falling over those bad boys was unbeknownst to me. She waved her arms to signal we needed to get ready before bowing dramatically, her hair touching her toes.

I revved twice and waited for the signal to allow me to pass, speeding off at a decent speed when I got it; I swerved in and out of the four bikes in front of me as my wheels burned against the dust and rocks beneath my wheels. My adrenaline rushed through my entire body, making my heart pump faster. I felt the front of my bike buck a little, hitting a pothole in the ground, my wheel moved fast from left to right and I began to lose control of myself and my motorcycle. Panicking I caught a flurry of people run to the makeshift barricades to see if I was okay including Will who had pushed himself to the front. I pulled back a little and took it down a notch, letting a few bikers pass me.
