Chapter 47

The following days turned into weeks, I wasn't coping well at all and the worst part of it was I was actually grieving her, mourning her death when she caused me to turn into something completely the opposite of what I should have been; I felt like I had been done a disservice, I didn't get justice despite her getting what she deserved...she never paid the price.

Will came down the stairs with a large suitcase with his hair swept back and his glasses perched on his nose. I was stood in the kitchen leaning against the bench while he gathered his things to go to college for a week, he was doing something similar to a 'fresher's' event for those just going to college straight from school, like a week's trial of drinking, partying and missing classes they should be experiencing the tastes for.
"Good Luck, Gilbert" Tee smiled from the living room, she was walking around now but still was stiff on her healing bones. She'd been here with little Elle every day since I had found out about Lucy's death. Part of me was devastated for Elle, she would go through the same thing that Tee and I had gone through, luckily she was too young to remember much so she wouldn't endure the pain of seeing her every night like I did.

Elle walked up to Will with a drawing and handed it to him carefully, ensuring the detail would not be for nothing
"Have fun" She smiled sweetly and I swear he welled up a little when he opened the drawing, revealing Elle holding his hand and him with a robe and graduation hat on (which looked like a brick), her other hand held mine and I had a little baby in a multicolour blanket in my arms. Teena sat down on the ground with Carrick and an angel was in the sky with black hair and blue eyes.
"I'm going to miss you, sweetie" He spoke, picking her up and giving her a big kiss on her cheek while she squirmed
"EWWW COOTIES" she giggled before he put her back down and grabbed Tee in a one armed hug, it meant a lot to them both despite it looking like just a normal, awkward hug and finally he came towards me.

I ran to him and embraced him in a deep hug, his strong arms enveloping me and his height towering over me. I walked to the door with him and the girls and watched him pack his stuff into the car. "Don't go" I whimpered against the door frame as he threw his suitcase into the back of the range rover.
"I'll see you soon okay, I'll call you every night and text you when I can" He recited
"Remember , No-"
"Tell all girls I have a stunning fiancee, my own house and little peanut on the way – No telling girls I am the master of the thunder dungeons and absolutely NO tequila shotting" He interrupted me and despite the giggles in my throat I just shot him a look.
"No missing classes" I finished and he winked at me, kissing my nose
"I love you" he smiled sweetly at me and my heart fluttered.
"I love you too" I whispered to him as he got in the car and drove away, was I pathetic for dreading 7 days without him?

That was 6 days ago, the entire memory stuck in my mind strongly while I applied banners to the glass panes of my windows.
"Hold this up here" Jake instructed, the plastic shimmering in the sunlight. We were creating a make-do 'welcome back' party with whatever we could find or purchased from the corner store for Will, I was proud of him, he had gone and did his thing and as someone who FaceTimed him each night I could tell her wasn't enjoying the dorm room or the sharing or being away from me. He told me he was uncomfortable and that he would rather just go to and from the classes when he had them but I thought he was telling me that so I wouldn't feel guilty; it was the day before he returned and I felt uneasy and restless without him. I hadn't slept properly despite knowing Liam was locked away because how could I be sure I safe? He knew too many people.
