The car ride to my new house was taking forever. I was staring out the window, while listening to my favourite songs through my earpieces. The scenery was completely different from my previous house. The town's atmosphere, the vibe.. Everything about this place was just.. strange. I took one of my earbuds out and looked at my little brother playing with his little toys before clearing my voice to speak.

"Dad, you sure you're going the right way? The atmosphere here is totally different.." I asked, slightly shivering from the air of this place. It gave me the chills.

"Yeah, i guess the weather forecast on my phone was wrong," He replied causally, totally ignoring the tone of my voice.

I decided to brush it off. Or should i say, shake it off? I looked out the window again. The town looked cold, lonely. It was lifeless; the houses there looked empty and old. I doubt i'd be making any friends here. I put the earbud back again, before..

"CRASH"

Some stupid car collided onto ours, making a loud crash. My dad swore under his breath, until Mom nudged him. He was about to open the door and get out before the car drove off. I looked at the car driving off while Mom was telling Dad not to swear in front of my brother and I. Well, what they don't know is that I actually swear more than he does and that car did not have a driver. I blinked my eyes and looked again.

The car that was gray in color did not have a driver. Nobody was driving it.

"M-Mom, nobody was driving that car–" I said, my voice shaking with each word i spoke.

"What?" She asked, slightly shocked before attempting to look at the car that had already driven off so far that we could not get a fair glimpse of the non-existing driver.

"Chill," Dad said before exiting the car to check if there was any scratches on the car. When he came back in, he made a gesture saying that there was no scratches on the car. Completely nothing. "How?" I asked. "That isn't possible. You heard it. It was so loud," I said. My little brother, Elliot, nodded his head several times before going back to playing with his toys.

"Cool down, sweetheart. You might've seen the wrong thing from all those horror shows. No more binging on horror shows from now on. And the scratching thing– it depends some times, you know, where the driver–"

"There was no driver, mom. I don't like this place. Can't you feel it? Something's wrong."

So for another fifteen minutes, we were arguing about that incident. Little did I know there was so much more to come..
