Chapter Three: Kidnapped.
The next morning Lou woke up with her husband by her side and her six month pregnant belly getting bigger. She kissed Peter awake. Lou got up out of bed and went into Amy's room. It was Saturday and Amy had a lot of horse work to do with her client horses.
"Amy, go wake up Ty and Tara. I'm going to start making breakfast," Lou said as she shook her sister awake. Amy sat up in bed. She loved sleeping in an extra hour on a Saturday morning.Amy was dressed and ready for the day in ten minutes. She walked to the barn and saw Mallory with Copper.
"You're here early," Amy said.
"Yeah, I want to take Copper out," Mallory replied. Amy went up the loft stairs and opened the door. She didn't see Ty or myself. She went back downstairs and asked Mallory,
"Did you see Ty and Tara go for a ride?"
"No, but Sky and Harley are missing so I'd guess they went out," she responded. Amy ran back to the house.
"Woah what's the rush?" Lou asked as she was frying bacon in a skillet.
"Tara and Ty aren't in the loft," Amy said.
"I saw them go for a late night ride last night," Lou replied.
"Did they ever come back?" Amy asked.
"I never even checked," Lou replied. Jack was sitting at the table drinking his coffee.
"We need to get horses saddled and go looking," he butt in.
"On it," Amy said.
"Peter!" Lou yelled.
"What?" Peter asked as he came into the kitchen.
"Go with Amy and saddle horses. Ty and Tara are missing," she said. Peter, without question, ran out to the barn with Amy. Slowly, behind them, was Jack. Mallory had Copper saddled and ready to help out once Amy told her what was going on.I woke up to darkness, the sound of an engine and tires on the road. Ty was on my left. We were in the tailgate of a truck that had one of those new black plastic lid covers on it. I tried hitting the lid off once I saw where we were but there was no use. I felt the pain in my head. I remembered the men throwing us into the tailgate of the truck. I also remembered them coming back with Sky. I was sad to see them abuse her like they were. They whipped her and hit her to get her trailered. If only they knew she would've went on her own. Ty looked at me. He held my hand. He could see how terrified I was.
"Do you know what they do you girls my age?" I asked him as I started cry.
"That's not going to happen. I won't let it," he replied. I snuggled up close to him.Amy, Peter, Jack, Tim, Lisa, Soraya, Mallory, Amy's friend Ashley, and the other stable hand at the ranch, Caleb, all rode out in a search group for Ty and I. Lou had to stay at the farm just incase we were to come back, but mostly because she was pregnant. She filed a police report, even though she knew the persons had to be missing for 48 hours before they could be considered a 'missing person'. They all rode down to the river where they found Harley grazing. Everyone jumped off their horses. Amy found my phone smashed in the rocks.
"Grandpa," she said.
"She must've fell off Sky and landed on her phone," Jack suggested.
"I don't think so Jack," Caleb said as he found Ty's phone smashed as well.
"They both could've been thrown," Jack said trying to think of the best.
"Ty wouldn't have left Harley here even if Tara were hurt," Amy defended.
"Would Tara leave her belt buckle?" Mallory asked. She pointed by the tree I was tied too where my belt buckle laid in the grass. Amy picked up the belt buckle and put it in her saddle bag.
"Twist ties?" Ashley asked as she looked behind the trees.
"Bad guys use twist ties to tie people up," Mallory said.
"Isn't this Ty's wallet?" Caleb asked as he picked up the leather wallet.
"Their hats," Soraya pointed out. The hats were laying in the grass, near the trees.
"I'm calling the police," Tim said. Tim was Amy and Lou's dad. He came back into their lives when their mom died. All of a sudden the truck stopped.
"Were almost in The States. We have to get rid of them before we have to go through border patrol," I heard one guy say.
"Ty," I cried. I held him tighter than before.
"You don't think I know that? We can cut our losses now," another guy said. The tailgate lid opened and Ty attacked a man.
"Go Tara," he yelled. I stood and ran down the road. A guy chased after me. I took in my surroundings. Cattle fields. Great, we were in the middle of no where.
"Forget the girl! Help me!" the boss guy yelled as they tried containing Ty. The guy stopped chasing me and ran back. I stopped running for a minute. The old truck and trailer were rusty. I saw them all wrestling behind the truck. Sky was the only horse in the trailer. I ran back to the trailer and opened it.
"Get the damn horse!" the boss yelled. I grabbed Sky's bridle and rushed her out of the trailer. I reached in her saddle bag and pulled out my Swiss pocket knife. The blade was custom made for all things farm related. I hit Sky's haunches and she galloped down the road. I hid inside the trailer as the guy yelled,"The horse is gone!"
"Then help me you idiot!" The boss yelled. The boss and Ty were still fist fighting and wrestling. I sneaked out of the trailer and behind the guy that was chasing me. He was smaller than the boss. I kicked him in the spine. He yelped with pain.
