I hope you like this book, and enjoy where it's going. The chapters won't be that long, only around 3 - 4 pages for me on an IPhone 6 screen. I will update rather quickly, a few chapters a day if I can.

Jude, Lucy's father, stared at the letter in his hands. He read it over again, looking up at the small blond haired child before re-reading the few sentences on the paper.

"Dyslexia? This is rubbish, my child doesn't have that" he exclaimed in anger, ripping the letter in half making the girl flinch.

He looked down at her, not even bothering to show any emotion. "Just try harder, you're just acting stupid" he spoke as he placed the remains of the letter in the bin.

"Go wash up, dinners ready". And with that, the older male left.

Lucy stared down at the floor as he walked off, not even moving. She hated being told she was 'acting' stupid, when in reality it wasn't an act.

She was just stupid.

A girl who couldn't read.

16 years old and gets stuck on words like 'holiday' or 'resort'.

She was dumb.

Sighing, she walked off to the restroom, washing her hands and going to dinner without saying a word.

Taking a seat, she ate the dinner the maids had prepared silently. The food was lovely, but it didn't do anything to make her feel better.

After finishing, she left the table after excusing herself and went to her room, only to break down.

Tears streamed down her face as she walked slowly over to her bed. Taking a seat, she puled a photo frame close to her and laid down.

It was a photo of her and her mum : Layla. Ever since her mother had died Lucy has disliked how she lives. Her father would be cruel and not even try to understand what she was going through.

Of course he thought it was a cover up, because his daughter loved 'acting stupid'. He had sent her to one of the best schools in the area, only to find his daughter having the lowest grades in her year.

Rubbing the tears quickly, Lucy closed her eyes and tried going to sleep, not even bothering to get out of her clothes.

And the worst thing was.

She had school tomorrow.
