~Carmen~

I tried to finish going over the song but my head was still reeling with thoughts. Finally after about thirty minutes of stumbling over lyrics and chords I give up and grab my laptop to facetime Faye. "Hey, what's up?" She questions as soon as the call connects. "Hey to you too. I just want to talk to you about something." I said, looking down at my hands, which were folded in my lap. "Sure girl, talk away." She says as she sets the phone down, tying her dirty blonde hair into a perfect messy bun. I explained the whole situation with me and Xavier, starting with when I got back from my interview. She didn't say anything until I was done. She's silent for a second before a big grin crossed her features and she squeals. Oh my god, I was waiting for you to figure it out. I ship it so much!" She says as she claps her hands together. Laughing at her antics I reply. "What do you mean you were waiting for me to figure it out?" "Carmen, I know you too well, it was so obvious from the way you talked about him to me that you have liked him for a while." She says, still practically bouncing up and down. Suddenly I realize something and begin to panic. "If you realized it do you think he realized it? He probably hates me. We're best friends there's no way he likes me like that. Oh no." I wail, burying my face in my hands. While I freak out Faye just laughs. "Why the heck are you laughing? This isn't the time for laughing!" I screech at her through the screen. "It's just really funny watching you freak out over this. I mean come on you're Carmen Bradshaw, any guy in the world would be stupid not to want to be with you and he's been your best friend for practically ever - he definitely likes you." She says so confidently you would have thought I just asked her what 2 + 2 is. "You're right, I'm Carmen Bradshaw. If he doesn't like me I'll move on. Plus it's not like I can do anything about it because I'm technically dating Noah. After my talk with Faye I could think a little clearer. I was able to finish the song which I have decided to call Breathless. Then around 2:30 my phone rang. "Hello?" I questioned into the receiver. "Hey Carmen, it's Lia. I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out today since we haven't hung out yet since you've been back." Lia is my other friend from high school. "Sure, do you want to go grab some coffee?" I ask already knowing the answer. "Ok, I will meet you at the starbucks downtown in 15 minutes." She replied. I said goodbye and hung up before running downstairs and slipping on my shoes.
