"Thank you so much for dinner, it was delicious," I said as I stood up from my seat at the spacious dining table.
Conversation at the dinner table was directed at me the remainder of the time, all about my "life" in the states which I had studied before the mission, perfecting each little detail.
"I'll walk you home," Hoseok said as we all walked out of the dining room and into the foyer, putting on his coat before helping me with my own.
I thanked him and the rest of the group before we headed out the door and down the street to my new apartment.
My hands stuffing in my pockets as the cold weather nipped at my skin, I could feel Hoseok's eyes on me as we walked.
"You seem like an opposite of Jinyoung to me," he said as we walked, and I nodded, responding.
"He was always more of the responsible child, sure I was book smart, but that life wasn't for me," I said, glancing over at him before continuing, "People say live life to the fullest, and I couldn't see myself living to the fullest if I spent my early years studying for a degree that would only get me a seven to five job,"
I took a breath, "So, Jinyoung introduced me to the system, and I took to it immediately, as weird as it sounds, I find more purpose in helping people live to fullest, whether it be with drugs or not, " I said letting out a laugh, my eyes drifting to Hoseok who wore a smile on his pink lips.
"Yes, you are definitely different, but a good different we were needing around her- a new blood as the others like to say,"
I smiled and took it as compliment, a sincere one coming from his mouth, letting out a sigh of relief as I felt Hoseok was slowly accepting me into the group; and it was only the first day.
We soon reached the doorsteps of my apartment and I pulled my keys out of my pocket and glanced back at Hoseok, "I'll see you tomorrow then?" He asked, and I nodded, pushing a smile onto my lips, "Tomorrow,"
I watched as he cracked a smile at me before he turned and made his way down the road we had just walked, catching his glance as he looked back at me, causing us to both smile.
Turning around, I walked up the set of stairs and then unlocked my door stepping inside the small studio apartment, cozy enough for me to occupy by myself during the mission.
Making my way over to my clothing rack, I shed my jacket and hung it up as I glanced at the inventory of clothes that was waiting for me.
After I had changed clothes I picked up my phone from the side table and settled myself on top of the grey sheets of my bed. Glancing out the window which viewed the city below me.
My fingers typing in my passcode before scrolling down in my contacts before pressing on "Mina", bringing the phone up to my ear as I rested against the beds headboard.
"Lily, you finally called," I heard Yoongi sigh in relief on the other end of the call.
I smiled and responded, "It was a long night, but I think Hoseok really trusts me,"
"That's great Lily, really. How are the others?"
I continued to tell him how the rest of the night went. From my meeting with Sunhi, to facing Taehyung for the first time and holding a conversation with him over dinner.
But inside i was still trying to process things in my head, mostly, the fact that i had successfully gotten my foot in the door and, the fact that there was no turning back until I had finished the mission in its entirety.
I said good night to Yoongi and set my phone on the bedside table, plugging it into its charger before laying down, my eyes drifting to look out the clear window, letting the sights of the city lights and the sounds of city life lull me to sleep.
