It's been months since the hospital incident. Soonhee has now gotten better. Although, their house became their personal hospital.
Hoshi grew tired of it, to be honest; nurses would come barging in his sister's room without his consent. It annoyed him to the extent of him almost cursing at a nurse for suddenly opening the door of her sister's room, the door handle clearly hit the wall beside it. The hours he wasted time trying to figure out how to fix the doorknob was a dawdle and a nuiscance.
He wondered how naive can his sister be; still mourning for her boyfriend who didn't even saw her worth. That hyung was someone he couldn't bare with. He looked like a girl anyway - with his long-ass hair tied up in a bun.
A lot has changed since that incident. Hoshi became much more aware of his sister's eating schedule. Soonhee's 'pretending-to-sleep-so-that-I-can-skip-a-meal' method worked until Hoshi caught it. He was never fooled again.
Minjin became silent since the day she revealed too much about his sister's breakup storry. Apparently, Jeonghan was spotted kissing with another girl on top of the tree behind the school - by his sister. Jeonghan had the audacity to breakup with Soonhee.
Hoshi's parents that went missing for about a year suddenly appeared. Sure, he was pissed off by it, but Soonhee was happy to hear their mother's voice again. Usually, they would just send money and go on business trips to who knows where.
One of the things that didn't change throughout the span of almost five months was the letters in his locker. He already had a box full of it. He became giddy whenever he sees an envelope falling from shelf of his locker.
Of course, the thought of him writing back clung onto his mind as the days go by. As of now, Daerim's letters contained poems, dad jokes, and small topics.
He already had a box full of those letters. Each dated and placed according to dates.
Also, he has been having dreams that really bothered him. Bother will be an exaggeration, but it suits it.
Lately, he has been painting the girl in his dreams.
Across his bedroom walls were paintings of this girl.
The way her features were illustrated was beyond perfection.
Her hair flawlessly draped down her shoulders and back. Her face sculpted to a round and small frame. Her smile that he only saw once, but stuck in his mind forever.
Her eyes - those eyes. He couldn't help but paint a picture of a galaxy in her eyes. There's this one painting; it was a painting of her beautiful eyes, and inside those black orbs was a wide canvas of a galaxy - with all the stars and the planets in it.
He grew fond of painting this girl's face. He wouldn't usually stick to one image, one model. He easily got bored of things.
But something about this girl was so special; she was already in his heart.
"Hi."
Was it possible for a person to wish that they would never wake up?
The voice brushed pass his ear. He slightly jumped.
A smile.
The moment his dream eyes landed on the girl's eyes, the moment that their gazes locked.
There she goes again, sitting on the railings.
"You shouldn't be sitting there by now."
The moment he felt her soft hands - which is really quite insane, a bizarre thing to be heard since people say that you cannot feel anything in a dream.
It became a ritual, this scene.
Hoshi would walk up to the girl.
His hands would do it as an instinct; he'd snake his hands around the girl's waist.
He'll gently lift her up and place her down.
Followed by small talk while sitting on the concrete floor.
The moment he heard her voice.
"Tell me your name."
It wasn't a question, but a demand.
The moment she finally said her name.
"Daerim."
The moment he knew the face of the sender.
He felt his heart leap in joy, pound in anxiousness.
Those were the moments he cherished the most.
Not only one question was bothering him - but two.
Was it possible to love an anonymous girl who has been sending you letters? Was it possible to fall in love with someone from your dream?
