"You coming?" Liz asked. I hadn't even realized that she'd gotten out of the car, but she was waiting for me a few steps away. I jumped out and followed her into the Walmart.

The store wasn't packed, but it was pretty full of people, the way any Walmart always is. I was surprised at how many people were there, seeing as it was a Tuesday, and most people should be at work or school.

I followed Liz until we got to the section with clothes about my size. Liz looked at some skirts while I was looking at jeans.

"You're about a three right?" she asked.

"Size four," I corrected her, looking for my size pants.

"Great.... I'm thinking maybe like five pairs if jeans, some sweats, some dress pants, and maybe a skirt or two?" I nodded, not wanting to be rude or ungrateful. I would wear anything she got me.

I found a light and a dark pair of skinny jeans, a pair of flares, and a purple pair of skinny jeans. Liz found a flowery yellow, pink, orange, an light green skirt for me, a pair of khakis, and a pair of yoga paints with blue on them.

We moved on to tee-shirts, getting mostly plain ones, a few dressy ones, and a few tank-tops. I got three pull-over sweaters, and a zip up hoodie.

"Do you like these?" Liz held up a few patterned scarves.

"Yeah, I do," I smiled, wrapping one around my neck. I honestly only agreed to them for warmth, although they were more of accessories. I could tell Liz was enjoying herself, so I let her. We eventually found me a pair of running shoes, a pair of black, hightop Converse, and a pair of light brown cowboy boots with a small heel.

"Are you a jewelry wearer?"

"Sometimes," I lied. I never wore jewelry, all it did was irritate me.

I ended up with two rings, two necklaces, a pack of eight earings, and a bracelet.

We checked out after that, and I was sure I wouldn't end up wearing half the things we bought.

It was nice though, to have some things of my own. It made me feel more at home.

"So, wanna run up and say hi to Jonah?" Liz asked happily.

"Is he at work?"

"Yep, and he loves when we show up," she smiled. "Every time one of the kids stay home from school, we show up to surprise him, and usually bring him lunch. He loves it, and so do the kids. It's practically a tradition. So now, it's your turn," she pulled the car into a Taco Bell, grabbing her wallet and asking me what I wanted.

I wasn't even hungry.

"Oh, come on, everyone loves tacos!" She winked, "I'll just get you what I get," she gave our order through the voice box in the drive through, then pulled up to a window. She set the bag of food in between us, and we drove up to the towers to see Jonah.

I could tell Liz visited him often, not just because she knew her way around the building so well, but because everyone greeted her. When we stepped out of the elevator, even Niko, leaning in the same place against the wall as when I first saw him, yelled out to greet her. When he saw me, he got up and followed us.

"Hey, Mackenzie. How's the new place?"

Niko's eyes sparkled, he was happy to see and talk to me, he was truly interested in what I had to say, he bad some things to say himself.
