HAEWON stared at him in disbelief as taehyung kept his face smiling, without any hint that he was joking.

"you're joking, right? please tell me you're joking."

"what? no i'm not."

"but we barely know each other? like, the only thing i know about you is your name and you already ask me to commit some stupid crime?" haewon asked, looking baffled.

"first, you know two things about me. my name and where i live. second, it's not a crime."

"what do you mean it's not a crime? breaking into a mall outside its open hours is illegal, taehyung. the next thing i know i'll be having criminal records and i wouldn't be able to find a job and holy shit— i'm going to be homeless."

"loosen up for once, okay? i feel like you haven't had a real adventure since years ago. when was the last time you felt alive?" taehyung tilted his head, waiting for her reply.

haewon looked dumbfounded and put her hand on her chest. "my heart is beating healthily and i feel very much alive right now, excuse you."

he rolled his eyes and sighed. "you do know what i mean."

"okay, fine. but fun adventures are only suitable for kids. we're adults now, we've got responsibilities to take care of, so breaking into a mall isn't exactly what a wise adult should do."

"pft, you're barely an adult. plus, i bet you don't pay for your apartment yet, right?"

haewon bit her lower lip, thinking of what to say in return.

"come on, it will be fun. trust me."

haewon let out a sigh and looked at taehyung for a moment, before deciding her final words.

"i'm sorry, a no is a no, taehyung. i don't want to break the law." she said, and turned her heels away.

"wait!"

"i— i guess it was too sudden to ask you to do that. how about we have some nice chit chat over a cup of tea? we can get to know each other since you only know two things about me, right?" taehyung raised his brows, giving her a pleading look as well.

she smiled. "now you're being reasonable."

"i don't want to lose my friend over something stupid like this."
