Just a short chapter to end this fic. Sorry if it's rubbish I didn't know where to go with this or how to end it but I tried. Hope you still like it anyway :) x

The next morning Dec woke up with Ant's arm wrapped protectively around his waist. It was a nice feeling for the business man ever since he come out he'd never had a serious relationship. But he was 31 now and he needed to sort out his personal life since he had a very success career. He laid there for a while not wanting the the feeling to end before Ant woke up. The younger man had stayed many times over the past 6 months but today it felt different. He didn't feel the need to rush back to uni or go off to work, it felt like he belonged where he was.

Time went by with Dec going to regular appointment and physical therapy to build up his strength. There lives settled into a routine with Ant going off to university and Dec was allowed to go back to work part time with strict instruction not to get too stressed out. He employed a few members of staff to run things when it got to much for him or he wasn't around and life was going well for the pair. Ant had moved in permanently with Dec because he hated spending nights alone much to his flatmate Ben's annoyance but Ant didn't care. Soon Christmas came around and the boys had to go their separate ways and they weren't looking forward to it. Both men's families lived in different places in the UK and there was no way they could spend it together even if they tried. Ant had to go back home and be with his family, it was going to be the first one since his mother had passed and he couldn't be without them no matter how much he loved Declan. Dec's family was religious and his parents weren't all that happy their son was gay so he thought it was best if he went alone and enjoyed the holidays without his family staring him out because he was with another man. Even though they were proud of what he had achieved with his life. The business man also had to stay stress free so that was another reason he was having to go it alone. The two week break was difficult on the two of them and they spoke most days, all day because they missed each other so much. Finally they reunited and Dec had a something he needed to speak to Ant about.

A couple of days after they got home Dec was sat in his office working through some emails when Ant came in. He'd just had his first day back after the Christmas break and he was stressed out. It was exam session and the work load was getting to much for him. As he sat down in the chair opposite Declan he let out a huge sigh. He just wanted to go home and spend the night in with boyfriend but he'd been summoned to the office for a reason he didn't know. The older man could see his partner was exhausted but he had planned something special for them and didn't want to cancel it now. "Declan I'm so tired can't we do this another night" He looked up at Dec who was just finishing off his last email before getting up and putting his jacket on. "No Anthony please it won't take long I promise, then we can go home and snuggle" The shorted man smiled and leant in to kiss his sleepy partner. "Alright but it better be worth it" Ant joked getting up from his seat and making his way out the office building hand in hand with Declan.

They made their way along the road and soon got to their destination. Ant was still unaware of what was going on but didn't think anything of it as they entered the restaurant where they had their first date. It didn't even come to his mind as they sat in the same seats they did all most a year ago. He was so nervous that night he didn't really remember a lot about it but as he looked around the room he started to think back to it. A small smile played on his lips and he sat back and enjoyed the memories before he was interrupted by Declan talking to a waitress. The younger man looked over and saw Declan smiling back at him. No matter how many times he saw that smile it still made his heart race. They had their meal and left the restaurant and choose to walk home with it being a nice evening. It may have been January but it wasn't too cold and Dec was trying to stay healthy after his heart attack last year so walking was the best choice. They walked arm in arm talking about the past year and everything that had happened to them throughout their lives. Soon they reached the park opposite Declan's house and they sat down on the bench to enjoy the fresh air. Ant's mind wondered yet again and he wasn't paying attention to Declan who had moved to be in front of him. He was too busy looking at the night sky and the stars he hasn't notice Dec getting down on one knee. "Anthony McPartlin....I've known you for almost a year now but I already know your my whole world" Dec began and Ant came back down to earth. He stared at Dec in front of him and couldn't believe what he was seeing. "I want to spend the rest of my life with someone that looks after me the way you do....after I got sick you were there for me and you were prepared to give up your future just to make sure I was alright..." Both men had tears in their eyes as they looked at each other. "I love you Anthony and I want to spend the rest of my life with you by my side....will you marry me?" The older man spoke on the edge of crying and looked lovingly into the taller man eyes. Ant couldn't speak he was in shock so he just nodded and wiped away the tears falling from his eyes. In that moment everything that had happened in Ant's life somehow didn't feel important anymore. Everything that meant anything to him right now was kneeling in front of him.
