"I can't believe we're finally here!" Serenity exclaimed as their small group piled off the bus. "Well believe it sweetheart. Now you get to spend the next 3 months seeing me," Zach said as he walked up next to her. "Oh joy!" she said sarcastically and rolled her eyes. "I knew you'd be happy," he chuckled, "Now I better go find me cabin. See you later." He winked as he turned and left.
"I better go too," Ember said and he followed the same path Zach did. "That boy is so weird," Luna said with a shake of her head. "Which one?" Georgie asked with a raised eyebrow. Somehow they managed a three-way glance. "Both," all three of them said at the same time.
"Okay, we should go find our cabins, the list should be over by the girl cabins," Luna said once they had finished laughing. With a nod Serenity, Luna, and Georgie walked over to a list that was nailed to the trunk of a large oak tree. "Yes!" Luna yelled and pumped her fist in the air. Once Serenity and Georgie saw the list they both copied Luna. "I can't belive we actually get to room together!" Georgie exclaimed happily.
Serenity laughed, "Me neither. Come on. Let's go to cabin," she read the list, "5C." All three of them linked arms and skipped to the cabins. "Yay! We're here!" Luna smiled happily as she opened the door. "They even brought our luggage in," Georgie said as they walked inside. A pile of their luggage was in the middle of the room.
Serenity surveyed the room and saw that their was a bunk bed at one end and a single bed at another. There was two tall cubbie holds next to the bunk bed and one next to the single bed. The wall opposite from the door had a large picture window with the ugly brown colored curtains drawn and a nasty green colored couch in front of it along with an empty book case on each side of the couch.
"Well at least the beds look comfortable?" Serenity put in as they all looked around. "I can fix this!" Georgie said. "How?" Luna and Serenity said simaltaniusly and looked at her. Georgie grinned, "My number one rule of fashion; Never leave home without your fabrics and sewing kit." She smirked as she pulled a large pink zebra print duffle bag and unzipped it.
Inside it was multiple rolls of fabric and a large, black, round tin. "Okay, what time is it?" she asked as she straightened up. Luna checked a blue watch that was around her wrist, "Um, 3:30." "So that leaves us," Georgie counted on her fingers, "2 and a half hours before the welcome dinner. You guys get settled while I work. By the way, I call the top bunk."
Luna and Serenity laughed as they both grabbed their own luggage. "Mind if I take the single bed?" Luna asked Serenity. Serenity shook her head, "Not at all." She threw her luggage next to her bed of the bottom bed of the bunk bed. As light suddenly filled the room she blinked her eyes hard to adjust before looking over at the picture window.
"Sorry," Georgie said sheepishly, "Should have warned you." She had taken down the dingy brown curtains and was sliding them off the rod that they had hung on. "It's fine," Luna said as she turned back to her bed and began to put blue sheets onto the camp bed. "Good bye ugly curtains!" Georgie announced as she threw the brown curtains in the trash, "Hello pretty curtains!" She pulled out a roll of dark red fabric.
"Nice choice," Serenity approved as she opened one of her trash bags. She pulled out a set of emerald green sheets and began to set them up on her bed. "Hey Georgie, want me to set up your bed when I'm done with mine?" she asked and looked over her shoulder as she worked. Georgie looked up from where she sat crossed legged on the floor, the fabric laid out on her lap.
"Nah, I should be finished with this soon and then I'll do it once I finish with the couch. If there's still time at least," she told Serenity before looking back at her work. Serenity nodded as she finished putting on her sheet, "Mmmkay. Since we're all doing something why don't we tell each other about ourselves?"
