One year later from the Bernie/ Serena Christmas reunion and a Christmas later, the two women were more in love than ever before. Bernie had moved in to the now Campbell/Wolfe household and their annual Christmas party was about to start.
After much arrangement and many guests later, the party was in full swing. Jason, Elinor, Cameron and for the first time in a long time Charlotte had already arrived and settled in well with the alcohol. Fletch and the kids arrived shortly after, Morven and Jasmine following close behind. Which left only one more guest to arrive. Bernie waited near the door, full of nerves, checking through the spy hole every 2 minutes. "I'm sure he'll be here soon sweetness, come and enjoy yourself." Serena smiled, placing her hand on her lovers back. "Just 5 more minutes and I'll be through darling." Bernie smiled, kissing Serena's cheek. "Alright sweetness" Serena smiled, walking though to join the others.
Five agonizing minutes later and Raf had finally arrived. "How are the nerves?" He joked, poking Bernie in the side. "Do you have it?" Bernie asked, shifting in her place. "Oh bloody hell, I forgot to pick it up." Raf teased, pulling out the small box. He passed it over to Bernie smiling. "Its beautiful you know." He said as Bernie opened the small soft velvet red box. Inside was a beautiful diamond ring. The diamond was just smaller than the size of a five pence peace. "It really is beautiful." Bernie smiled at the ring and up to Raf. "Just like Serena." She added, before kissing Raf on the cheek. "Thank you for this." Bernie said, before leading him through to the others, tucking the small box into her pocket.
Once again as a habit the Karaoke machine had made it's was out. Morven and Jasmine were the first ones on this time, singing High School Musical 2's Everyday. Jasmine sang Troy's parts and Morven was Gabriella's parts. The group sang well into the night, taking turns on the machine.
As midnight hit, Raf brought out the mistletoe. "Oop, looks like its Christmas day folks." He cheered, taking the mistletoe over to Serena and Bernie. Bernie quickly shot her wine as if it were tequila to calm her nerves. "Bernie, are you trying to get drunk?" Serena laughed, none the wiser as to what was happening. Raf stood over them both with the mistletoe as Bernie took out the small red velvet box. "Serena" Bernie said before pausing. "I love you my darling Serena, with all my heart. I was lost until I met you, but now I'm found. You complete me Serena Campbell. You are my other half, my love. You are the love of my life." Bernie said as she got down on one knee, opening the small box, holding it out to Serena. "Will you Serena Campbell do the honors of making me an honest woman and become my wife?" Bernie said as a tear fell from her face. Serena stunned took a moment to gain her posture, inhaling deeply. "I thought you'd never ask." Serena laughed, pulling Bernie in as she kissed her sweetness. "Of course I'll marry you my sweetness." Bernie smiled, kissing her lover with deep passion. Serena pulled away wiping Bernie's tears, Bernie then slid the ring on her darlings finger.
"To the happy couple!" Fletch announced, raising his glass.
