Cold.
That's the first thing I remember feeling.
Blood.
I know now that blood was the first thing I smelled.
Mother
That was the first thing I saw.
It had been ages since I saw her face. She was young, about how old I am right now.. Too young to have cubs. Her feather-fluff was light grey, almost silver in color. Her eyes were the color of the amber that leaked from the trees moons ago. She smelled of blood when I first saw her. She looked worried, and tired.
I remember her licking me and moving me towards her to keep me warm and awake.
I remember being prodded at which was followed by several small whines.
Brothers.
I remember the first time I saw them. They were bigger than me. The oldest was a dusty grey color and the other was a brownish color. I was the darkest of the three of us. They had eyes like Mother. I had blue eyes.

Darkness..
That's all I see now. All I see are dark walls, dark chains, and dark, hairless beasts. I have been taken away by cruel people and trapped under the surface. I was taken away from my mother when I finally was about to glide for a long period of time and hunt on my own. I haven't seen the light of day in moons, I forgot how the air smelled after it rained in the Raining Season.

I forgot everything...

For the many moons I have been here, I only get to eat on certain sunrises, and when I do it's only a small stag if I'm lucky enough. Most of the time the only things I receive are spears in my backside and shoulders from the cruel hairless beasts. My power compared to theirs is significantly different; I could destroy them with one swipe of a paw but they've put a weird and weird smelling circle on my mouth to keep it shut, my paws and head are chained to the ground, my wings are clipped too short and are horrifically wounded. I'm powerless to them.

A loud bang intrudes my thoughts. I looked over and saw the hairless beasts. Instinctively, I growled, narrowing my eyes and pinning my large ears back. They brought more spears and more chains. One day I'll break these chains, one day I'll get rid of these beasts, one day I'll escape.

One day...
