Chapter 3~ Am I really free?

I didn't sleep much for the past sunrises..

I've been studying the walls of my prison cave, looking for possible weak spots and imperfections in the structure of the place.

The guards haven't brought me any food since they brought me the rotten stag and my hunger is consuming my mind. I feel weak and dizzy all the time.. I just want to rest.

No, you can't rest. You're going to try and escape today..

I started yanking at my chains slightly, to see where they were stressed at.

If I bend them a certain way maybe I can break them off.

I've bent the chains as much as a could. Maybe some adrenaline will break these cursed chains.

Click, screeeeeech.

They're here...

I staggered up, ears pressed down. They know something is up. They've brought more spears and weapons that look like they'll do more harm.

Touch me one more time and I'll bite you in half...

I yanked at the chains and roared at them. I could feel my feathers and feather-fluff bristle.

They laughed and spoke in their language, one I will never understand, as they inched closer to me but my focus was on the door.

They are readying their spears

The spears are reared back to throw..
They release

Three

I just ran. The spears are stuck in my sides but I keep running. I hear the chains snap behind me. My head hurts from the collision with the wall but it broke easily. Screams were muffled as I ran past.. I must have stepped on someone.

I'm outside now. The sun is blinding but I keep going. My injured wings spread as I leaped off the cliff side. My gliding is horrific and it's not far from a plummet. I hit several trees which snapped the spears out of my body.

BAM

I hit the ground with such force it felt like the earth was shaken by the fall. I'm dazed, I'm seeing two, but I keep running until my body gives up on me. I'm several ways away from the guards but my body feels like it's on fire. If I could turn my head I'd imagine seeing flames, burning my skin and feathers off my weak body.

My vision is leaving

I don't want to leave
