Chapter Five

They arrived at school on time before the bell could ring. "We have to go to English." Lucy said pointing at herself, Lauren, and Dinah.

"We have to go to Marine Biology." Camila said pointing at herself, Ally, and Normani.

"Okay, you guys go to class but be carful," Lucy told the three girls as they started walking to their class.

"Lets go." Lucy said walking to class but not forgetting to hold Lauren's hand while Dinah trails in front of them.

"With all this shit going on we haven't had any time alone," Lucy said smiling down at her and Lauren's intertwined hands.

"I know I miss us." Lauren said kissing Lucy on the cheek.

"I miss us too." Lucy smiled. The three girls arrived to class and sat in the back before the bell rang.

"Alright class today we're gonna start reading Frankenstein because we haven't had time to read it and, well, now we are. If you have the book open it up to chapter one and start reading it up until, uh, chapter three or four. Yeah that should be good. If you don't have a book share with the person next to you or something, okay you may begin." Mr. Rodriguez said with no enthusiasm what so ever.

"I really hate how blunt he is all the time," Dinah said clenching her jaw. Lucy looked over to see Dinah's tight grip she's having on the sides of the desk.

"Dinah chill dude." Lucy said. Dinah looked at her then down at her hands. She removed her hands from the desk and saw that her grip had actually dented the sides of the desk.

"Sorry." Dinah apologized as she sat back in her desk trying her best to calm down.

Lauren felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and took it out hiding it under the desk.

From Normani🙈💜:
"Hey Laur can you meet us in the bathroom."

From Normani🙈💜:
"NOW!"

To Normani🙈💜:
"Okay. We're coming."

"Hey, Mr. Rodriguez can I go to the bathroom?" Lauren asked wth her hand raised.

"I don't care what you do." Mr. Rodriguez replied bluntly. Lauren looked to her left to see Dinah breathing in and out harshly.

"O-okay," Lauren muttered, "come with me Lucy." Lucy nodded and got up from her seat following Lauren outside of the class.

"What happened?" Lauren asked once they reached the bathroom. Normani was leaning against the wall while Ally was at a sink looking into the mirror in front of her. Normani shook her head, "one minute her eyes were normal an then the next they were glowing,"

"And I don't know how to turn it off." Ally complained as she looked into her glowing dark brown eyes while Lauren looked at Lucy for help.

"Listen to my voice, okay Ally?" Lucy said and Ally nodded, "okay."

"Close your eyes and think of how your eyes would look like when their not glowing," Ally nodded again and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and a minute later she opened them up too see in her reflection that there not glowing anymore. Ally exhaled a breath and thanked Lucy.

"Alright you guys get back to class we have to see how Dinah is holding up." Lauren instructed.

"Why? What's wrong with Dinah?" Normani asked.

"Let's just say her anger and strength don't exactly go together." Right when Lauren said that Dinah came barging into the bathroom hiding her face and running into a stall, locking it. Camila then bursted into the bathroom breathing heavily.

"Dinah?" Lucy questioned. "What happened to Dinah?" Lucy directed to Camila.

"I-I don't know. I was getting out of class to come here and I see Dinah coming out of class too but she was hiding her face. I walked up to her to see what was wrong but before I could she started running here." Camila explained. Lucy nodded and turned toward the locked stall and started walking toward it.

"Dinah?" Lucy started.

"Stay away," Dinah warned with a deep voice.

"That doesn't sound good." Normani muttered under her breath. Lauren looked at her and nodded.

"Dinah? Please, unlock the door." Lucy pleaded.

After a few minutes Dinah unlocked the stall door and faced her friends. Her eyes were glowing a dark brown and her teeth were sharp, her face was defined and her jaw can go on for days.

"Dinah take a deep breath, close your eyes and relax yourself." Lucy said calmly and convincingly. Dinah nodded and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and relaxed her shoulders and face. Dinah's face relaxed and turned back to normal. She opened her eyes and they were no longer glowing.

The Polynesian walked out the stall and toward a mirror. She exhaled a deep breath and smiled with joy at her reflection.

"You guys need to control that, I'm not always gonna be there when these things happen." Lucy smiled sadly. The girls nodded in understanding and walked out of the bathroom.

Lucy, Lauren, and Dinah headed back to English while Ally, Normani, and Camila headed back to Marine Biology.

Today was just gonna get longer and worse.
